Enabling - Good or Bad

i've got a bit of a question, or maybe a poll .

.. my wife is a jw and i am not.

Maybe. A possible problem with that is that if she becomes completely immersed and isolates herself from the real world, she'll have nowhere to go if/when the going gets rough. And why would it get rough for her? She won't have any financial problems. She has a bit more freedom than most witlesses because she can let her hair down a bit with you, so she's unlikely to feel completely oppressed by the borg.

I think the idea to show her the contrast is a good one. Christmas might be a good time. Don't buy her a present. Visit family or friends for Christmas dinner on your own. Buy a Christmas tree.

Just some ideas. I'm no expert, but I hope that helps anyway

Revelation Teaches Jesus is God

i understand that jehovah's witnesses teach that jesus is not god, but the author of revelation seems to teach otherwise:.

yahweh speaking: "i am the alpha and the omega," says the lord god" (revelation 1:8).

more yahweh: "i am the alpha and the omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.

funkyderek, Jesus identifies himself as the speaker at Revelation 22:16. But no speaker is identified at 22:13.

No, but the speaker in verse 13 begins with "Look! I am coming soon!" In verse 20, it is clear that the one "coming soon" is Jesus. There is no mention of Jehovah in this chapter (even in the NWT). The only other person speaking is the angel (Jesus' angel according to verse 16).

Apostate overseers visit

hello i've been sent from botchtower headquaters to see how the flock of apostate are digressing spiritualy.. as we all know it is important to be inactive in the service and meetings and i see that many of you are doing well.. it can be hard though , sometimes when we come home from work tiered it is all too easy to get washed and changed and to rush of to a meeting without stoping to eat.. but without trust in the holyspirit you can become stong and my be able to get into the habit of watching tv or maybe even going to the pub.. even if you can do a little tv watching a day instead of reading the watchtower and awake it will help.. in order to combat the desires of the spirit we must replace them with more apostate things.i notice that some of you have not been active on the internet recently.. this is not good for your progress.. on my next visit i would like to see more non attendance at meetings less studying and more engagment in materialistic pursuits.. oh and some of you have been reporting your hours, please consider the relevent material as whether this is unscriptual or not.. with warm love and apostate greetings ,.

Sometimes late at night, I find myself tempted to read the bible, or pray, or even just think pure thoughts, so what I do is force myself to bring an image of Britney Spears into my head, and then wank till I fall asleep. Works every time

Christendom will NEVER hit the mark!

here's a representation of how many times that christendom has hit the bullseye with regards to knowing what the bible teaches.

she teaches that man has an immortal soul; that heaven is the only destiny of the "saved" (no paradise earth then); that jesus and his father are co-eternal/equal (that jesus had no beginning); they say that what jacob and his mother did was bad; political envolvement (part of the world); loves pagan holidays; thinks that god produced the star of bethlehem;thinks that the commission to preach only applies to the clergy and not to the laity; etc., etc., etc.. .

christendom considers herself to be christ's representatives.

In Revelation 22:13 Jesus clearly identifies himself as the Alpha and the Omega. It's worth reading the New World Translation and trying to follow the bizarre system of punctuation they use to try to deny this.

can you fathom being treated this way (persecuted) as apparently some christians were under the government of the roman empire?

WonderWoman, a word of warning. Whatever your answers to these questions Thomas Poole is convinced that Jesus is the answer to everything. If you acknowledge that there's anything "missing" from your life, he'll try to fill that gap with JC. Just to let you know.
