  his "perfection" and understanding of the situation would certainly have mitigated his suffering.. his death was not really death, not in any meaningful sense.

  An omnipotent god sent his son (or himself) to earth to live as a human and to die what everyone seems to agree was a pretty painful, humiliating death. Why? To save sinners. What is he saving them from? Death. Why do they die? Punishment from the same god. Which means that the cause of all humankind's suffering is causing another sentient being (himself and/or his son) immense suffering in order to relieve humankind's suffering. Which two thousand years later, is still going on. Have I missed anything here?

  i just got reinstated about 3 months ago and i am still trying to adjust.

  i got baptized right before i turned 16, got disfellowshipped not even a year later.

  then another year later i get reinstated.

  i hope all of you are doing okay in light of this terrible tragedy we have witnessed.

  it makes me want to join the army or something, it's hard to sit back and do nothing.

  upon watching the watchtower's new pr video of the terrorist act in new york city, it is as far away from the reality of what happened as an isolated community can be.

  No it is not. The main reason that science cannot disprove the existence of god(s) is because it's not a testable hypothesis.
  The god of the bible (if we take the most literal interpretations) obviously does not exist because the character, as written in the bible, is internally inconsistent. However, the existence of a god with suitably vague characteristics cannot, even in principle, be tested by science. That is clearly not a reason to believe in a god, certainly not a reason to abandon science and reality for superstition and religion.

  Note the recent events ina frica, the major manufacturers of aids cocktails would not allow some nations in africa to use generic brand of their cocktails..they care more about money then helping people.

  living in northern ireland is tough.

  people are mean.

  religious differences rule your life.. anyone reading the news will see how far we can go in our hatred for one another.. one thing that allways bothered me though.. if you read any yearly, or monthly report by the wtbts, you will find no mention of a real country.. northern ireland is a real place.

  The six counties of Ulster known as Northern Ireland are currently considered to be part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It is not and has never been a separate country, although it is treated as such by FIFA, so that Northern Ireland has it's own soccer team (as do England, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland.) For rugby, there is one united Irish team (as well as English, Scottish and Welsh teams.) For most political purposes, the United Kingdom is treated as a single country, but for administrative or other purposes, it's not uncommon to either separate it into its component states of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, or to have Great Britain as one country, and the whole nation of Ireland as another, which is what the WTBTS do.   i have offered a prize of 50 american dollars or the equivalent in your currency of choice for whoever can guess (or envision or whatever) the contents of a picture i have chosen.. i will be emailing the picture, in password zip format to [email protected] along with unambiguous details of what qualifies as a correct guess.

  Additionally, the guesser failed to mention that the car was moving through water, that there were three people in the car, that it had a number clearly visible on it.

  A car is not an unusual object. There's no reason to believe that it was anything other than a guess, not even a particularly good one, as the guesser got the location ad colour of the car wrong, and was completely wrong about the other details of the picture. I don't think I was being too hard looking for the model of the car, when it's the most recognised in the world. I thought I was very fair in my test, and nobody really came close. In all fairness Ralph, if you count that as a direct hit then you're fairly easily convinced. I'm willing to set another test, if you think my rules weren't fair.
