i was able to digitize, and compress the entire dateline nbc show into the smallest file i could manage.
the sound is ok, the picture so so....but you'll get the full impact of the show.. the only program that i have that can send files is icq, so if you don't have icq, just go over to www.download.com, put icq in the search, install the latest version, get yourself a new icq number...and then add my number to your contact list.. my number is 161294253...or alternatively, you can find me under my e-mail address of [email protected].

having been a witness for many, many years, about 15 to be exact, i just thought i'd explain a few things for new-comers to this site about what it's like to be a "dub".
"dub" is just a convenient shorthand for "jehovah's witness", and is not meant to be derogatory, but i think i will stick to calling them witnesses here for the sake of people visiting during the furore upon whose brink we are sitting.. much of those early years i don't really remember.

at the speed I read, I could underline my Watchtower in 10 minutes, tops, and be sure that all the answers were right.I had the same "problem." I used to feel bad about it. I realise now that it wasn't laziness or lack of "spirituality" on my part, it's that I was too intelligent for that crap. Not only are you expected to answer questions from a paragraph that's just been read out, you're also supposed to have spent an hour studying it and underlining the answers beforehand. It seems so absurd and pointless now.

can anyone answer a serious question?
since jws set so much store by bible study etc., i was wondering how they explain away john chapter 3. specifically where jesus tells nicodemus you have to be born again by the spirit of god in order to enter the kingdom of heaven.
while i'm here i would also like to know about eph 2:5,6. it seems to me they work like trojans in order to attain a place in paradise- but this verse clearly states we are saved by god's grace and not our works.

But James 2:14-19 says differently. Works are necessary for salvation. The mistake JWs - and most Christians - make is in believing that the collection of books known as the bible have a consistent, coherent message.

god almighty is just that, all mighty.. he knows the end from the beginning because he planned and executed the beginning all the way through to the end.. and 9-11-2001 was only the beginning.. god almighty is not what you pretend him to be: sugar and spice and everything nice.. we are all, satan inclusive, very tiny, naive and foolish children.
and we are going to be moved from our fairy tale suppositions of god, to the harsh reality that he is a real force in each and every single persons life.

many years ago, i noticed (like the rest of you) that the stubborn anointed.
ones seemed to be immortal.
supposedly, they had all been sealed prior.
Of course, there is one other explaination which the WT would never admit as a possibility. There is a revolving door. Every time one of the annointed dies, it turns out that he/she was unfaithful and has to be replaced by a newbie, hence the constant number of annointed still hanging out.
Even if this happened a lot, the numbers would never ever go up. At worst i.e. if all those who died were unfaithful, the number would remain static.

The difference is, that's not happening now. Current events always seem more important than historical ones. It's natural and normal to feel that there's something "special" about the time and/or place we live in, but looked at objectively, there usually isn't.

as has been mentioned before on this board,cnbc the european finance version of cnn which does have a few non finance programs will be screening dateline as usual at midnight on saturday.. the only question i have is will the dateline show we are eagerly awaiting be screened the saturay following the tuesday show or the saturday preeceding the tuesday show?.
i would have guessed it would be the saturday following,if not,then i have just missed it.. anyway i remember when most people ran analogue satelite that on the eutelsat hot bird satelite you used to be able to watch what was then called nbc super channel which ran a standard nbc schedule,i dont know if it is still available on analogue for anyone who still has analogue set up on hot bird.i think it changed name to nbc europe,in which case you could possibly see it tuesday night,anyway for most of us over here we can definately see dateline on cnbc on astra digital saturday night,or watch it on streaming video through nbcs website.
I have CNBC. I'll check it out and tape it if possible.
OK, I've just realised, if it was on last Saturday I've missed it. Does anyone know if it was on?
