Funny they are only one of 3 who still have a Kmart in Texas....lol
Reminds me I have to get a new parking sticker.

Next time a JW knocks at your door.....
by yknot inwhy not accept the offer to study two jw books, in return that the caller study the franz books?
it would be fairly easy to set up a study schedule and questions.. what is the worse that could happen?
someone desparate enough for a study to agree or the caller getting back in the car and marking your house with a big fat red a on the territory map.. thank you for considering my moment of apostate evilness.. y.

Question for Active Witnesses: What Makes You Stay?
by feenx ini had an interesting conversation with my still active mother last week.
i asked her point blank if she ever stopped to think that maybe not everything the society told her was right.
yet she still stays.

Usual so far.....
Family, Friends.....Where to go if not believing in Trinity....
Blah..Blah...Blah....Blah... Blah..
My New Years resolution is to move the above stumbling blocks (hope I am more sucessful then my usual New Years diets)
For older ones I think the life long dedication and not wanting it to be completely in vain, keeps them seated.

Assembly Resolutions
by DT ineven when i was a believing jw, i began to really dislike those fake assembly resolutions.
my biggest complaint was that we weren't given any time to think about them before we were called on to agree.
i thought they were pretty meaningless and stopped responding to them.

I have always refused to agree to anything I have not read in writing.
When I was 18, my sister had been wrongly DF and we had an assembly the following weekend after the announcement was made. Feeling very FUish I was sitting in the balcony area and said NO as loudly as I could! You would have thought I shot the man. Anywho turns out there are special rooms used by Elders for "situations". My mom was told to escort me back to the hotel.

Recovery of an Adult Convert (Excluded from Christmas)
by lonelysheep inon my previous thread, i wrote about reconnecting with my family:.

too little, too late, i sadly admit.. holidays, specifically christmas, were always special for us since we were able to all be together.

I am sorry that you were snubbed.
Since I am an optimist though I see you having the chance to make good and be included next year!
Make sure you send out B-Day cards and presents this year maybe even plan a B-Day celebration, send out cards for all other holidays too. Start sending emails about what you are doing now that you are out of the JWs. Include them in your life and eventually one of them will start to include you in theirs.
Remember it was small calculated steps that drew you away from your family and into the JWs (ie indoctrination) and it will take the same type of steps back to your family.
Many Blessing in the New Year!

Finally got asked "THE Question"
by TweetieBird ini don't post too often here but have been coming here for a few years now.
i have been successfully fading for the past 10 years (so i thought) but went to visit jw family members last week and the matriarch of the family asked us if we still believed it was jehovah's organization.
after avoiding a direct answer and trying to skirt the issue for a while, finally the hubby said, "no, we don't believe it's jehovah's organization".

I wish the nightmares would stop.
by Micky4321 indo any of you have nightmares as a result of the jw religion.
i haven't been to any meetings in 17 years but i have nightmares a couple times a month about the whole thing.
in my dreams the scenario will be i am at an assembly or a meeting against my will and everyone is ignoring me and some are glaring at me and i am trying to leave but for some reason i can't get out of the building.

I occassionally still do.
I am always in an airport, everyone gets to board but me. My mom hugs me goodbye and then I am all alone. The airport is completely empty. Everyone was found worthy but me.
The nightmares began right after the PO decided that Jehovah didn't want a rift-raft child like me.
THANKS WALLY OLMSTAD !!!!!

I participated in that.....(((because I am EVIL)))
Not a word was spoken in public.....and I sent about 22 letters locally......more to other wayward ultra-totalitarian congos in my area....
I think the WTS lurks and when ELdums contacted Mother, she explained the Jigg.
Just my opinion
