This thread reminds me of a really bad pyramid scheme. The entry level people get the scrapings off someones shoe, while the top tier lives in the penthouse. BTW is it really true that the upper class want you to drive a 4 door sedan or what ever for driving others around? (shaking my head).

"Stumbling Stones" in the congregation
by JH ini remember a brother telling me many years ago, that he could have bought a beautiful fur coat to his wife, but he didn't want others in the congregation to be jealous.
that was the mentality back then.
no one wanted to be a stumbling stone.. gee, today you see acuras and expensive cars all around the kingdom hall parking lot.

I fired myself from HomeDepot in July. Does that count? Don't waste your time if you need work. Poorly paid incompetent boobs.

A deflating talk with my brother re: anti-witnessing,,,,thoughts?
by smellsgood in**edited to say, my brother is not a jw, never has been, nor have any of my family.
i'm referring to jw's i don't know who came to the door finally (i posted about it a couple weeks ago in personal experiences) i was just talking to him about it because he got word of it and doesn't like the idea of it** .
talking to my brother today, he doesn't like the idea of me getting involved debating with jw's (i've done this plenty, just not in person:).

I have never been a witness, but I made my associate look like a fool, and he has stopped babbling about his addiction to the WTS.
It's real easy to lock horns with a witness. Logic and knowledge such as I have found made it easy to contradict. Believe me though, I was not happy to discover another corrupt belief. Just for a moment I thought he actually had something. Sort of like peeling a bandage off yourself and finding an infection or worse instead of a healed wound
Note I said logic, not more bible passages.

Hello everyone, first post.
by Frjprice inhello, i just wanted to introduce myself to everyone here - as i will be posting here.. i grew up a jw and pioneered, was a ministerial servant, ect, i was in the organization for 17 years.
i left and naturally my family did as they were told and cut off all communication with me.
this left a horrible taste in my mouth for not just jw's, but any religion for that matter.

I have friends in Mexico City that take me to their local churches and their bassillica. I am aware that both religions , people are pushed into the religion whether they like it or not. The difference is that you can attend a catholic church whenever you want, and your family will always love you. I don't know if they shun if you convert, but they do not hassle anyone if you are infrequent or simply stop. I believe there is not ime cards either.
An obvious similarity is that there are pedophiles in both beliefs, but the Catholics admit it and deal with it.
The other difference is that I see local folks (mexican) coming and have a humble, but proud appearance. I see no arrogance. Just hope. I was never judged by my physical appearance. (Being a green eyed Canadian).
I however have never been in a Hall, so I will not judge those inside. Now on the outside....... .

My parents were the worst, although my mom still loved me. Imagine my dad turning our home into a house of ill repute? Took me many years to find out, but it made me sick to my stomach when I put 2 and 2 together. They taught me how not to behave, and my kids are doing fine. I forgave my mom-can't say the same for my dad, though.

If it's a long trip, please observe the "do not close your eyes for a second" rule. I did that once and ended up changing lanes nodding off. PULL OVER AND REST, Good luck-road trips are fun!

Blood Transfusion V Abortion!
by Gill inwhich 'crime' does the wtbts consider to be the most serious?.
does it consider abortion to be more serious an offence than accepting a blood transfusion?.
i ask this because my understanding is that in certain circumstances, ie an ectopic pregnancy etc where the mother would die if the pregnancy continued, the wt does not condemn removing the embryo.

I'm sorry that I don't understand why Witnesses are so afraid to end their lives. Is it perhaps that deep down they really believe it's all a bunch of bull s---? If life is soo good on the other side, then why wait? I mean are you really convinced or not? They should be able to live it as well as teach it, right? (This issue irritates me-sorry).
