If Atheists ruled the world
by Robert7 inthis is too funny, and scarey.
this is a video intenting to be sarcastic, but actually quotes people's quotes from christian forums.... here in the bible-belt i think twice before admitting my atheism, because there are whackos who think like in this movie.... .

Haven't had an atheist come knocking at my door - - - ever. What would an atheist talk about on your doorstep anyway? (perhaps)See last nights Family Guy" Episode? Aparrently Meg found God. Did anyone notice who God was portrayed as? Adam West AND Rob Lowe. ?? Seth was working overtime on that episode for sure.

Are looks important to you?
by LouBelle inbe honest about it.
many people put a lot of emphasis on the way they look and put a lot of effort into maintaing their look.
the current younger generation is obsessed by it.

Looking clean is very important to me. I shower every morning. Keep the hair cut and combed. Always wear clean clothes. I go for 2-4 walks every day to remain healthy. I am not a jewelery person. No rings, watches, or other accesories for me. A nice tie on a business meeting is a good thing though.

If the buffet had more than stale tasteless crackers and red wine, I might go. Eggs benny, lasagna, couple of salads, mac and cheese, baby carrots, etc. What are the chances?

Who here has just let the JW stuff go?. I NEED HELP GUYS!!!!!!!.................
by oompa in....i am so frikkin obsessed about the jw lies and my newfound truths about them, and it is prob driving me crazy or causing depression.....if i wake up in the middle of the night, i never get back to sleep as my mind starts racing about jw crap and how it affects my marriage, and then how can i make this marriage work with her such a hardcore dub....i told my wife i now realize i am an abusive husband.....i must stop talking to her about the real truth!!
!..........it is killing her inside and we have had soooo many bad discussions that turn into arguments......on top of that she says she is now closer to jah and the org than at any other time in her life, that now that she has no positive direction from me, she relies totally on jehovah and prays to him more than ever..... we talked about separation, and that i was going to lose her over our religious differences........i feel so sorry for what i have put her through, and i know that if i can not really shut up with my ohsohelpful comments of truths about this truth she will leave me due to "spiritual endangerment".......and she said she is damm close to that happening.....i told her i knew it to and would so hate to lose her due to our religious differences.
at my recent shepherding call, they said to try and stop focusing on the negatives i have found in jw, and focus on the good things...and that is not a bad idea even if i never go back to meetings....there are good things about dubs....the efforts at ending racism and at least for me, some really good lifelong friends.......even their hope for the future was pretty good to me, even though it is a bunch of crap and i no longer believe the bible is gods word or inspired.....it does have some good suggestions for a happy life and ideas as to how to treat others........but so do just about every holy book of other faiths........ i had plans to start going to some meetings with my wife, but today, after a sleepless night i told her i just dont think i can do it, and just as she strongly believes it is the truth, i do not, and that i think the guys on the gb are not led by holy spirit cause if she will read the proclaimers book, she will see we have never gotten a single bible inerpretation of prophecy correct.......so she says "so what is there?

Well it HAS been rather cold here but we do 2 or 3 long walks most days even in the rain and snow. Our 3rd walk today was in Blaine Washington. It was a nice sunset, but freakin' cold. I do really wish you peace. Let her do her own thing, and you take care of yours - I suppose. Sounds like a cop out, but if you can't walk the other way, then walk standing tall. (eh!!!) Bill.

Oompa, I think you need to decide if there is anything in your life to save. If there is, you must accept your wifes belief. She also must accept you for what you are. An independantly thinking individual. If the arguements are non stop and she puts more faith in her beliefs that she does to you, then I honestly believe you must move on. If you are at an age where you can easily start over, then you should. Plain and simple. If you are getting up there, then perhaps just continue on. Perhaps you need to find friends with common interests - not anything to do with your personal problems. I go out with a long term friend almost every day for a long walk and we talk about the issues of the day. We sometimes disagree with each other, but I ALWAYS let it go, because it makes life much more comfortable. He is an adult and as such can make his own decisions for himself.
I personally would never have gotten involved with someone who is deeply rooted in this faith because they seem rather focused on one issue and have nothing else to live for. Unfortunately people can change. My wife has succumbed to some bizarre ideas about health issues, and financial issues. She is on many meds a day. I now just live with it no matter how nutty it is. After all I did agree to "for better or worse". However there are some things I will not tolerate and would leave in an instant. It would be a very selfish move as what I do now is better. Just put up with it and get outside often. Find a hobby you can spend some time with. PS . I hope you are clean and sober these days.

Some time ago I confronted my JW former associate and asked if it is in fact that only Adam and Eve were aboard and no other humans. I then mentioned that there must have been quite an inscest fest. The other strange thing is that according to the WTS org is that there is no such thing as evolution, so just how could people get a permanent tan, and other features without evolving? More than just hidden dna I suspect.

I agree with Steve. Do yourself a favour and go to a movie. If you no longer have the respect for the Christ, and you no longer have any self respect and you like a building with entrances and no exits, then be our guest. Witnesses have no freedom to think for themselves. Disfellowshiping and shunning is a sin against God and His Son.

I called my mom.
by lisavegas420 inafter more than 20yrs without a relationship....after more than 5yrs without hearing a word from her, i called.. out of the blue, i just called.. me: hi, mom, it's me lisa.
mom: oh, hi.. me: well, it's been a long time, i just wanted to check and see how you and dad were.. mom: we're fine.. the conversation ranged from, the weather, my husband, my children and grandchildren, (whom she's never met) my animals, gardening.
we talked about how dad was doing now, (after a stroke) how he walks with a cane, and uses an electric wheel chair when they go to walmart.

Unfortunately parents can be all messed up with or without the help of org. religion. It is important to keep in touch with your parents, or at least try to. My parents are all gone now and I miss getting together with them. I often meet my best friend and he tells me of his calls to his mom. He talks to her on a daily basis. It is a loving relationship he will dearly miss some day. I envy his relationship with his mom. I do go ocasionally out with both of them. I also keep in touch with my mother in law. She's a nutcase for sure, but is all I have left of that generation. In June, we will be having a family reunion. She will be coming with us. This time last year, we went to California to get on a taping of The Price is Right. It was a wonderful experience. Even if you all out there try and fail, at least you tried. Guilt can hurt you in so many ways. At least you yourself will have removed yourself from that guilt. Bill.

Simply letting your spouse go to the meetings is like letting your spouse buy crack. If it's wrong, and as a family member, you absolutely have a right to intervene. Anything else would indicate a lack of love in your heart.
I was wondering why there is no mention in (even their) bible of the Watchtower society itself, but has, in fact, specific details about your salvation through Christ. If one follows what the society preaches, does that not mean shunning the entire new testament including Jesus who said "I am the way, the truth, and the light"? Simply practicing only the old testament creates only a dim light on the reality of the Christ. Assuming that it is more real than fiction. I will one day ask my former JW associate where it mentions the WTS society, or why the society has been around for such a short period of time, yet the birth of Jesus is 5000 years old, more or less. Does that make any sense? Hope so. Bill.
