Since no has actually spoken to God, I suspect it is not a name but in fact a label someone created. Fake.

Newly Exiting JW's - WT Society's Motive was to Instill Fear & Doubt in You
by flipper ini have seen this more and more the longer i've been out of the witnesses ( over 6 years ) .
one of the main objectives of the wt society was to make us have a fear of leaving the witnesses and doubt ourselves so much due to being told we were imperfect and sinful.
so then that produced guilt.

Even at a young age, I could never understand why God invented hell with the fire and the brimstone and eternal burning, 'till I realized that it was all a bunch of bs invented by preachers to control the flock.
With that, they control your pursestrings.
People have often asked me my opinion. Basically I believe that there could be a heaven, although even that is a stretch, but hell is manmade for sure. A control hoax.
BTW, Flipper. Most churches pass a collection plate, or have envelopes or drop off boxes for donations. How does the local society collect? How much does the average Witness dole out if any? Bill.

Toyota accelerator goes wild, kills 4 JW's in field service

To 6 of 9. How else can one explain three dozen people dead because of this. You are right in that putting a car in neutral SHOULD stop the vehicle. How can 36 assumingly competent drivers, including the California CHP officer not figure this out? Unfortunately the deceased cannot speak for themselves but odds are that an electronic gas peddal cannot be the sole problem. No electronic peddals for me. Way too much electronics. My 05 has a computer that controls the starter. You cannot engage the starter while it is already running. I prefer to be the brain of the car, not the ECM.
Even Data on Star Trek often failed in the 24th century.
I do however hope that this stops the carnage. Lots of problems with this company. Check out this URL.
http://www.consumeraffairs.com/automotive/toyota_engine.html Condolences to the bereaved.

From what I am beginning to read, the newest cars, and not just Toyota have gas peddals that control the computer and have NO throttle cables whatsoever. I suspect that because putting the car into neutral, and turning off the ignition seems to have no effect on stopping it, it looks to me IMHO that a computer glitch similar to a pc computer glitch caused this (freezing). I have been told that auto trans shifters in new cars are computer controlled as well. Just how hard is it to shift to neutral otherwise? Too much computer control in a car exposed to 600,000 volt power lines, cell phones, radio and tv stations, satellite reception. Plus static build up from friction in and around the car.
I had an old Dodge decades ago that had an engine rebuild and immediately after taking it home, the gas peddal locked at max (linkage incorrectly installed) and just turned off the key and reset it manually, then fixed the problem.
I have also heard of cruise controls on new Toyotas going out of control as well. Now add all the problems with engine oil sludge (google that) prematurely killing Toyotas engines, severe rust recalls and boy are they screwed.
Too bad the victims in the runaway cases are unable to speak for themselves. Hopefully justice will prevail.
My '05 has a mechanical throttle cable. Lucky me.

On a recent quick gas run to Blaine Washington, I was asked to pull over for a secondary inspection coming back to Canada. I know that Canadian Border Services ocasionally do random secondary inspections, but when I was interrogated, they asked me to remove certain items of clothing. I was hiding nothing. I removed my shirt, and pulled up my pants to the crotch. I declared what I purchased. Jug of milk. 50 bucks worth of gas. And some dollar value food from Burger King. They rifled through my wallet.
Here's the problem. I was asked to do this while I was outside for all in the border line-up to gawk at when I was asked to do a partial stripdown. Did I mention that it was freezing outside?
Were my rights violated? Could be, but if I raised a stink, you bet I would have many more problems than minor frostbite.
What would any of you done? How about if you were female? Would you refuse to strip outside? What would have happened if I refused?
Can they refuse me to return to my native country? Who knows what would have happened if I spoke up. I just wanted to go home.

Anyone here notice that Neo Cons don't understand how humour works? No wonder there are no right wing comedies these days.
Let's explain it to the whiners. The jab was about Palin, not people with downs syndrome. Palin is a prime target with the endless hypocracy.
Limbaugh says retard. That's good. Sarcasm? Sure it is! Everyone else says retard. Everyone is badmouthing her child. Hypocracy is NOT funny, but rubbing phoneys (left and right) is very funny. He went after Clinton. Did Palin object to badmouthing the Prez? Nope.
Think it was tasteless? I won't argue that point but there is the off button or channel up if you want to watch Desperate Housewives or whatever instead.

To "win" an arguement with a witness is to NOT have one at all. As Captain Picard once said.... we have Not engaged the Borg.... well, more or less!

Are JWs attracting more and more off-center people?
by undercover inthis thread is prompted by the thread about a jw woman who disprupted a funeral.
i don't know the details as i can't view youtube from work, but it did get me to thinking.... over the last couple of decades, at least, i've noticed that more and more 'fringe personalities', for a lack of a better term, have infiltrated the ranks of the everyday jws.
true, jws are themselves a fringe element to normal society, but even within their own communities, there used to be a sense of normalcy, or at least seemed to be.. has the cultic message of the wt society started attracting people with different thought processes over this time period?

Like the animated cartoon "Rudolph". The song "We're a couple of misfits" from the island of misfit toys. Most of these folks coming from troubled backgrounds.

West coast of California, except for all the rain, mudslides, earthquakes, forest fires. But.... .
Actually I live at the Canada/US border of I-5. Affordable health care here, and cheap gas across the street.
Hit 37C last July 29. A record. Only 2 inches of snow for the whole winter season. Less rain, and it would be paradise here in Metro Vancouver.

Farkel missed one.
Canada wins a gold. Yup, global warming (probably a true story too). No snow left on Cypress.
So it's a farce? Fine, but do we not deserve clean unpolluted air? I wonder who's behind all this. Could it be big oil? Let's think about that.... .
