I wonder what must it feel like when you wake up one day and suddenly you realize its all been a crock of night soil? Liberating? Angry? Disgusted? Sad?

The jws just came in our block...
by fullofdoubtnow in....but they didn't ring our bell, they know better!
they almost did though, one of them was about to when another one of them (there were 4 of them, hunting in packs lol) said "no, don't do that, it's an apostate household!".
needless to say, they didn't get much of a reception at the rest of the flats either.

drugs or religeon
by blueviceroy ini ask myself which is more harmful slavish devotion to chemicals (which is openly discouraged) or slavish devotion to a system of beliefs which is most often encouraged .
i understand the motivations behind doing something that defies common sense and fighting with your last bit of will to continue on a certain course no matter what your concious says.
us recovering from addiction understand it completely.

I understand the motivations behind doing something that defies common sense and fighting with your last bit of will to continue on a certain course no matter what your concious says. Us recovering from addiction understand it completely. Ignoring that inner voice is called insanity unless your inner voice is crazy but Im assuming not . I see a marked similairity between this need to belong to something greater and the need for a substence to be filling the same need which is to feel better about yourself. God gave us all the ability to feel good about ourselves but unfortunetly other people do things to us that take that away . Organized religeon taken to an extreme which cuts you off from associating with the outside world sounds reallly creepy and strange . Interacting only on a level of distributing propaganda is a disfunctional situation. Jesus didnt just go around giving out information he lived in the trenches just like the rest of us . He didnt cut himself off from things he deemed unclean. He lived as an example for people showing there was a better way. He never shunned anyone or anything, you know last time I checked Jesus had givin us new laws to live by you know "dont put new wine in old skins?" The more research I do the more ill I feel having even contemplated the idea of having anything to do with jws . I really feel sorry for all the people that are sucked into cults and Im glad I did a little research . When you are hooked you will do anything no matter how painful or humilating to get what you need I wonder how much pain and humiliation people endure for the sake of organized religeon?

Did U Ever Express Negative Comments About The Organization While U Were In
by minimus ini was caught saying a few "truths" about the organization to my tennis buddy whose family are witnesses.
he rather innocently related some things i expressed.
the next thing i knew i was being asked by the po if i had any issues with the faithful slave.

Im so sorry to hear this. My own upbringing was almost without any supervision and I couldnt imagine the tedious exsistence that being a member of a closed sociaty would be like . I read about the scrutiny of all aspects of your life by other people that arent concerned about your wellbeing but only your behavior and I feel disturbed . It seems like all the things I find I dislike about sociaty in general are even more pronounced in jws hmmmm I thought they were against this system of things .it seems as if they are mimicing some of its less desirable conditions . What of this perfect pardise we're told to expect wouldnt it seem like striving for some of that now would be just as important as spreading knowledge?

you scoundrals
by blueviceroy ini thought i would give don a complete read through of "what the bible really teaches " before i made up my mind but the people on this forum have have done nothing bur confirm my suspicions that jws are really pushing mindless propaganda concealed behind a nice pretty picture.it bothred me that all the liturature appears to be targeted towards children even though they use big words.
the big red book about revelation had a "this book is the property of" space in the front like the ones i got when i was six.
i've been wondering how to tell don that im not really interested in become part of his organization but after reading about 1000 posts here i can really see that i would make a very poor jw.

I think organized religion never works because people are basiclly all a little off . I greatly enjoy being educated about new things and Im pretty sure the bible has been influential in the 20th century . Im still sad that I've encountered yet one more belief system that seems like it really strives for something good and true and then stops or becomes diverted or simply doesnt seem to feel right .I've spent most of my life seeking answers and they only one I find is "we are here " It seems that is all that can be proven . I would sincerly like some feedback about any other truths any one has found that lends value or purpose to our exsistence.

I think my ignorance is complete
by blueviceroy inim newly introduced to .
jws from a coworker and i do a bible study on saturday i hear a lot of disinfranchised former members i understand putting up with all the inevitable hypochrosy and not being given a real choice as a child could really sour you on a religion.
im merely curious and have no intention of becoming a member as i have a relationship with god that i have worked very hard to obtain.

But what is a "dub" And really it makes me sad to see the positive message of dealing with loved ones mixed up with so much contradictive information . I certainly see many inconsistencies in just the few lessons we have had .

slice them thin half to 3 quarters of an inch roll them around some goood cheese like a jelly roll season a little with something spicy or whatever you like ofcourse wrap with some real good bacon till it covers them like a second skin pin it shut with some toothpicks put them on charcoal grill and brush with somr teriyaki sauce or somthing good like a fresh ginger glaze i dont know if barbeque sauce would be a good idea because it has such a strong flavor it might take away from the turkey to much and it would cetrtainly ruin the bacon flavor make sure your grill doesnt get to hot i make something similar with chicken breasts and i usually pound them flat we all enjoy eating them to much sauce brushed on really kills them so be carefull i have had to experiment a little to get it right i hope you like it

choosing to be married is a big thing your life will forever be atered often during my marriage i struggeled with the commitment. my wife is not a believer and does not even want to hear about prayer let alone the message. but i love her with all i have she is special and exceptional and im lucky to have her . i think god would like us to be happy and if you live right you can show your spouse that there is a better way simply by showing good Christlike behavior i dont go to kingdom halls or meetings but an elder comes to my house once a week and we study in my home . the learning is important and the presence of Jehovah i s important but my wifes beliefs are preety well set my son is given the message by me and he has all the proper tools for making good choices, i hope oneday we can all go to meetings as a family but untill then i will just do my best to be a good example and pray for my family i will also pray for you as you will have to decide if what is in the bible really means anything to you being lukewarm wont get you anywhere and real peace only comes when we folloow gods will asking people for advice is usually fishing for what we want to hear and some prayer and contemplation will certainly give us the answer we need.
