my dad keeps trying to fix me

it would seem that i am broken.

at least, to hear my dad talk about me.. we had a phone conversation the other day and he said that i need to.

do something to advert my current "drifting" course.. he said "i though we had agreed that you would set the goal of a date when.

so since no one picked up the ball, after my thread on "your jw father".....here we go.... my mother (bless her heart) was born in kansas in 1926....her mother died in 1934, when my mother was 8 years old.

she died trying to give yourself an abortion with a coat hanger.

it was the "great depression".....she was 34 years old 4 kids and a 5th on the way...my grandfather would blow through town just long enough to "knock her up" and leave....no money....no hope.

She suffers from unmedicated depression and a really bitter mind set rife with defeatism

I just received a LOVELy letter from Trevor

in answer to the one i sent him..i had sent him some christian tracts .which he admits he has little use for spiritual things ( which i can understand bless him) but he did say he wouldnt throw them away one day maybe!!!.

he said that he agreed with me that an apology is truly in order ,& wanted to take this time & the opportunity to offer an unreserved apology for his conduct on jwd,of which he is both ashamed & embarrassed to everyone there /\....he also added he wished you all a very happy christmas.. .

he added that he has not been on jwd since ....thought i would let you all know.. so any who do pray .

The JW mindset is one of deception so maybe he just couldn't shake that addiction to fiction?

We all suffer from cult activity to one degree ar another just be virtue of being in the human race. A true path to healing is littered with mistakes and ill concieved ideas.

Perhaps one day trevor will be better and I sincerly hope he finds relief from his personal demons .

I have done worse and been forgiven , it is hardest to own our mistakes and easiest to look away.

Violating the trust of others caries it's own price, and it will be paid sooner or later

Internet TV

minimus' thread recent inspired me... to start a thread of my own~!!.

i'm working out of town and keeping unnecessary expenses to a minimum.

the problem is: i miss television.

I utilized a new seach function and its much better that TV

I went to > Stumble Upon < and downloaded the search engine . it's like TiVo for your internet , just put in your likes and fine tune the main selctions, and, viola! just clik the stumble button and only things you like pop up , the pages are all random selections from your list of types , you can change your prefs. at anytime .

WARNING: It's really a time drain , don't say I didn't warn you .

Only a few are interested in the truth

it occured to me that most jws, as many other religious people are not really looking for the truth; they are rather interested in certain degree of spiritual or emotional confort or at least the illusion of such confort that can be found in cults or religions.

truth inhabits the realm of the intelect, and the intelect is of little use to religious people.

Truth : conformity to fact or actuality

a statment proven to be or accepted as true .

Anything can be advanced as the truth , unfortunately most people are concerned with finding a truth that makes them feel comforted or safe.

The truth isn't about feeling good , and it seldom brings comfort to those unwilling to face the truth of our existence.

Most look away from the truth as it is very profound and eternal , it is easier to follow others and accept the "truth" that so many others are willing to accept and live by.

The true nature of ones own self is the best place to look when you start looking for truth , without understanding oneself how can it be possible to understand everything else , the outside world is infinitly more alien that the inside world , yet millions of people blythly stumble through life without selfawareness , miming "belief" and making a mockery of our creators gift of life.

The only thing that makes a romantic evening is some real discusion about the inner self we hide away from the rest of the world , with dinner and dancing or a walk on the beach .

More realisticly , my wife saying " C'mon , shorty's in the shower" LOL
