by Englishman inmy son and daughter from my previous marriage have just been kicked in the teeth by witness teaching.
they have never ever been jws, which makes it worse imo.. they have just been dumped by their jw grandfather, dumped by their uncle, dumped by their aunt.
when my dfd ex-wife lost her mother a couple of years back, her jw sisters and brother decided to put a stop to my exs alienation.

Thats supported in the bible.Well why dont we do that,because people learned that was an inefective,barbaric and moraly wrong way to punish kids.And so its the same with shunning.You dont deal with problems and people in need by ignoring them.Children do that.Jesus said love your enemey and pray for them.Shunning has been totaly denounced by mental heath pros and any truth seeker.Sunning is reserved for amish,cults that are afraid of information and assholes.

Harry Potter Movie
by Abaddon ini saw this on saturday and.... now i am a servant of the dark lord bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha!.
... it was very cool.. visually very faithful to the books; eerything looks as it 'should', which is really hard.
the screenplay was an acceptable compromise between the brevity neccesary in converting a book to a film, although one part (the dursley's leaving privett drive to escape the letters and being hunted down by hagrid) was done very badly.. the actors were excellent, and (thank god, nothing against american's, but i object to english stories being americanised for no reason other than american cultural imperialism) an excellent cast of top-quality 'supporting' english, or i should say british (as robbie coltraine is great as hagrid (and big!

agreed gweedo phantom menace was the most disapointing movie I have ever seen. Chewy cant be killed of becase the next movie takes place before the other three.You must have heard somthing else.Hopfuly it will be jar jar. Also about great soundtracks in movies, #2 on my movie list would be last of the mohicans.an awsome movie and the music made it even better.

i haven't read up enough and discussed enough to formulate a rock solid opinion on all the ins and outs of the whole issue, and i like to have rock solid opinions on just about everything (but i don't push my views on anyone or consider opposing views "wrong," that's something else i have a strong opinion about).

LOL naked star wars that would be cool. Yes the theam song at the begining of all 4 are the same but I was refering to the sondtrack throughout the movie.Yes in history interesting people die, but dose that make for a good movie.Lucas could make up his own history and he chose to devolop the wrong caracters, jar jar come on.He is forced to stick with some like obi one,anikin and the prinsess.He could have written maul into the second one but then he might upstage vader if you keep him too long.

This is soo funny.ldh is right alot of pubs cheat on time,I cheated all the time when I actualy turned in a slip.I would always round up, so if I spent say a couple of seconds saying the word Jahova,jesus or any other bilble word in public that was time and had to be rounded up to an even hour.I knew one pioneer who would only go in service for mabey 10 hours in his congo and he would tell people he would go in service with neighboring congos and he would also tell people he liked to work alone alot.This fraud happenes alot lol.

I agree with you abandon in some respects.I also think empire srikes back was the best one and I dont think it can be topped.I agree that the ewoks ruined jedi to some extent.I liked then when I was young but now I hate the furry bastards but not as much as jar jar.What made Phantom menace barable was darth maul, Qui gon and the awsome light saber battles.Lucas made huge blunder by killing of the two most interesting caracters.They should of killed jar jar off.One more point to make as two why the first three where so good, they had the best sound track to a movie ever,period,nothing else even comes close.I think alot of people underestamate how a good sound track can help a movie.

Paradise - I Think I'll Pass........
by Black Man inone thing that has always kinda ticked me off with the society depiction of paradise, is the completely bland, devoid of personality, stepford wives-ish look given to paradise pics in the publications over the years.
peeps walkin' around smilin' for no reason, no attention given to a cultivation of technology, the arts, space exploration.
there never seemed to be any point to paradise.

I agree with seeker on this one.I think if you ask someone if they would like to live forever they would say Yes.But if you really start to think about eternity it starts to get boring and old.Even the most enjoyable experiance can get repetitive, just imagine it forever and ever.I mean come on ,lots of people get bored with life with only a few decades under there belt,let alone the prospect of eternity.I think after a gogal of a trillion years alot of people would crack and comit suiside.Any star trek fans here.Remember the voyager episode that tackled this isue.The omnipotant Q that wanted to commit suiside because he had done everything that could be done.A god that got bored with existance.A very good episode.
