I think it's all about staging. In any cult, there are a series of traditions and customs that hold the members in. The JW cult has used the mystique of secrecy and surprise to enhance it's holiness.
Because the Bible promotes a patriarchal society they use the mystique of secrecy to enhance their position to God. The women are taught to think that there is spiritual knowledge that they are not able to handle (being the weaker vessel and all)
When the elder's school happens it creates an opportunity to enhance the illusion of the man/secrecy thing. It's a sacred duty of the "sisters" to pay homage and honor to this man/secrecy thing.
Sorry just rambling, the seaturkeys are losing to the KC big wigs and I'm half watching the game and half thinking about this post.
