Tell them your really stressed about your teen and it has really tired you out hard to get to the meetings and all that if they ask if there is anything they can do tell them to pray for you.
Tell them you have depression they hear this all the time.

What does an "obedient" elder look like?
by nochoice injust a clarification please.
some posters on other threads talked about "obedience" being an important factor to get circuit assembly and district assembly parts.
i don't fully understand.

We once had a visit from a CO who was new to our circuit, he was an elderly man probably middle 70's. He and his wife were going to leave the circuit work soon so he was scouting for a good place to land but that'a another story.
So the first time I met him was in the elder's room at the hall, he wanted to meet with me to go over the congregation records. After we were done and standing in the lobby of the hall I said to him, "so is there anything else I should do like kiss your ring" and he sort of smiled and said as he turned around and pointed to his anus "this one". It was all in jest of course but I really did feel that all the obedient elders (I obviously was not) had their nose up his ring.

Welcome Gypsy Sam,
This is a great place for all of us because we are the only ones that really understand what we are going through.

How many of you followed the WTS direction on education years ago and have been screwed by it?
by Julia Orwell ini'm really interested in this question because i've heard for years that if you forgo further education and go pioneering, when you have a family down the track you will get a good job because jehovah will provide for you because you pioneered.
as long as i was a kool-aid drinker, even then, i thought, "how does pioneering pay your bills?
surely education should come first.

As a parent of a son growing up in the bORG I can say that because of the societies propaganda at the time we did not encourage our son to pursue any form of higher education. Because of their, "the end is so near" teaching we felt no motivation to do so.

Crazy Religions
by Qcmbr ini was reading a good article regarding the relative 'craziness' of faiths (blog) and they mentioned a lot about mormons.
in short they talked about the socially accepted craziness (as opposed to actual mental illness) of mainstream , culturally accepted faiths v those that are relatively new.
we see scientology as more crazy than catholicism if we fall into the trap of judging without consideration but when examined all religions have very crazy elements.
