i wasn't raised a jw, but my wife was and everytime the co makes a visit to our congregation for a week - we had to make sure nothing was going to interrupt our meeting attendance.

At one point I was the PO in a congregation. Used to meet up with the CO on Tuesday afternoon so he could go over the cards and count time. He was new to our cong and seemed like he had a good sense of humor so when we parted I jokingly asked if he had a ring I should kiss he laughed and turned around and pointed to his ass. At the time I thought it was funny and still do but now I see the reality of it.

reduced to weekend visits by an outside but local elder instead.. i have no further info..
Looks like the waters of the watchtower river are drying up.

went with the wife this week for the public talk (i simply will not sit through the watchtower study), the subject was about how poorly governments are taking care of thier people in disasters.
the speaker(who had a british accent) started by saying "burma(myanmar) had 2 tsunamis and the government sent flat screen tv's as aid for the refugees..." needless to say this dillweed lost me for the next 30 minutes of his talk about how man can't care for god's people.
i left during the study as always and returned at the end of the meeting, still burning over the glaring lie told by this "brother" which by the way no one even batted an eye in the congregation!
When I was still in, there was a CO (my wife and I call him "bruce almighty") who said the newspaper article about louderback wood's tort on blood was all lies. I asked him which part was a lie and he said he didn't say they were lies he lied to me. There was another woman in the cong who approached me and asked me why he said there were lies in the article and I told her he denied saying that.
when i first attended the congregation of jehovahs witnesses i never even thought about whom or what was the faithful and discreet slave.
i do not believe that this information is ever taught to the public directly.
i think you have to be baptised or start attending the same meetings as those that are baptised.. anyway what made all of you adapt the teaching of the faithful and discreet slave (class or whatever)?

Sounds like we have to believe that after this "global flood" 4000 years ago, all civilization ended and restarted with eight people and these eight people became moved to all points of the earth to become different races and have different languages. No wait that didn't happen until after the tower of babal was built and God confused the languages. Wow we really have to streach logic to buy all of this. Then where did the water come from, oh it was in the atmosphere above us already so all that water pressure was in the air and it came down and covered the earth and then the some of the ground pushed up to become mountains and all the animals started to change their stripes IE: which came first the zebra or the horse, did the lepord start off as a Jaguar and loose it's black in some areas or did the Jaguar start off as a lepord and the spots filled in. What canine came first, what about the land dwelling insects did noah collect them too, what about the birds what family did they come from were there only one pair of one kind. and how did noah keep them from flying away what kind of snake did he have on the ark how about rodents which ones etc. etc. etc. It doesn't make sense and never will. It's a great tale but I can't buy it for fact.
our new resident scholar, rev1212 informs the board that.... the year 1914, which is the year that the gentile times (aka appointed times of the nations) ended, was determined though a study of the bible along with no doubt some holy spirit given to the brothers that were able to discern this information.. there are quite a few scriptures involved in coming to the year 1914, one of them from ezekiel about "lifting off the crown and it will be no one's until he who has the legal right comes".

then another significant scripture is from daniel chapter 4 which showed the appointed times of the nations would be "seven times".

and over as meaning that the first 144000 to accept christ would be his bride.
Exellent point. 144,000 seems very much too low! But does 1,440,000?
