Why are Pantsuits not appropriate according to The Watchtower?
by VM44 inwhy do the jws consider pansuits worm by women not appropriate attire?.
pantsuits are considered appropriate attire in the conservative business world.. secretary of state hilary clinton wears pantsuits quite often.. would pantsuits be considered appropriate for a visit to bethel?
if someone showed up at bethel wearing them, would be be asked to leave?.

Thanks Blondie, great WT study.
I'm serious.
When I was an elder some used to call me the fun elder. But now I see the error of my ways.

A simple question about Jesus prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane.
by nicolaou inwho recorded it?.
jesus is in the garden with peter, james and john but he removes himself from them and prays alone.
in all three accounts of this event we read that the disciples fell asleep and jesus had to actually wake them up.

JWs are a mind controlled group. Their leaders direct just about every part of their thinking. They believe the Bible is inspired by God and they are the only ones who have the truth from it. They are taught that everyone who is not a JW will be destroyed yet many will not admit that belief. They also believe that if anybody who is baptized as a JW and disagrees with the "basic teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses" will be disfellowshipped (shunned by the members). They also believe that those in the faith should only marry others in the faith though they can't fully enforce that it's looked down upon. Jehovah's Witnesses believe that their leaders are the only channel to God.
They don't celebrate holidays, birthdays, national days or any other day the world might celebrate. They are taught not to encourage their children to go to college to pursue a high paying career.
There's more I just can't think of it all right now. Maybe someone else can add to this.
Ask him if he's willing to give up the stupid religion for you and if he hedges, make a mad dash for the door and get out.

Would this accomplish anything, if distributed to JWs?
by WontLeave inhttp://tinyurl.com/3z8e9bf.
i know it's kind of long, but i feel i compressed a lot of information into it.
any suggestions or constructive criticism?.

I don't think it will simply because they are in a CULT and there is no critical thinking going on.
Maybe 1 out of every 100 might give it some thought.

I walked out of an Elder's Meeting
by AlmightyDog inwell here goes... i apologize in advance if this turns into a long and disjointed rant, but i just have to begin typing in order to keep from exploding.
i realize that what im about to say could seriously jeopardize my anonymity, but i think ive reached the point that i just dont care.
i want this to be over.. let me explain what caused me to rip up a letter and get up and walk out in the middle of an elders meeting two weekends ago.. our boe has been embroiled in a nasty fight for the past 2 years over a certain brothers business dealings.

As an elder myself, I watched elders meetings turn into political stands between elder factions I once watched two elders almost get into a fistfight I was horrified because at the time I too was a young elder. There is no spirit direction in elder bodies it's all a big scam. Glad you realized it while you are young. That way you won't waste anymore time with this cult.
Just fade if you have family still in. You have the perfect excuse. Tell the CO your faith has been thoroughly weakened.
You could also say your thinking about changing congregations. You might also suggest that all of this chaos has caused you great anxiety.
Set up the fade.
