You could definitly have fun with it. My goal would be to get at least one of the elders to laugh. Tell them ever since you were a kid you fantisized about (make up something GRAPHIC and use dirty language) with Smurfette. Tell them this demon temptress seduced you. Then move on to midgets (because they remind you of smurfs) etc...
Go out with a laugh.
Show them this picture and say - "Who wouldn't want to smurf that! Smurf yea!"

i have been busy reading steve hassan's book, " combatting cult mind control " and just wanted to share several thoughts now that i'm about 25% through the book.
it has been a real eye opener of how the power of a cult like the " jehovah's witnesses works.. one thing he mentioned is that in cults, " members are systematically made to feel phobic about ever leaving the group .
I saw that Hassan has written a couple books. If I were to buy only one - which would you say is the best?
What's this "Bowing Down" talk all about? Did I miss something? Is there some documentation of this new requirement?

my boyfriend was a jw for most of his life, he is no longer participating in the religion.
we are not married and i'm now pregnant.

Nice job jgnat, but you can remove Ireland from the UK stats. People here would find that quite offensive. I don't think either of those sources would include Ireland.
with the 2007 service year stats out one could be forgiven for thinking that wt's problems are over, the child abuse settlement an itch in their bethel backside and the blood issue a minor annoyance.. if the truth were known, it is probably that more often than not, congregations are in decline, attendance is poor and few new recruits are not already jw family members.. so, if you know how your congregation is doing, if you have the pulse of your hall, let us know.. .

Growing a lot, but this is all african and eastern european imigrants. A lot of Africans come here seeking assylum and CLAIM to be JW to get assistance, but they really aren't. I think about 2 have come in from the field misery in the last 8 years. Leavers far outnumber joiners locally.
i think i've seen clever posters work out how many leave the organisation each year, or at least stop being 'publishers'.
how many have been leaving each year since 2000?
is the number increasing?.
And can we get all apostates here to report thier hours spent helping others out? Then we can calculate the average hours required per DF/DA.

for me, it is the bookstudy - haven't been in weeks, no one calls, says a word.. so glad not to be reading the revelation book anymore.. from reports i have heard, the book study is the least supported meetings of all five..
No way man. If your gonna skip one - skip the Ministry School / Service Meeting. It's a 2 fer 1! Why skip a 1 hour when you can just as easy skip a 2 hour!?
