  my jw friend and i had a conversation.. it seems she received an anonymous letter from an "apostate" person.

  explaining why they left the wts.. of course, this person must have left the jws to pursue a deviate lifestyle.

  since there weren't a bunch of sited bible verses to substantiate her claims, my jw friend is trying to dismiss it all as a sour person who thinks they missed having a childhood, due to over-zealous jw parents who were supposedly "too strict".. she comented that had this person given good biblical reasons as to why she left, and supported those reasons biblically--then she might be more inclined to take the letter seriously.. now, i know this is a bunch of bs.

  The bible/doctrine inaccuracies didn't really convince me. What really was a kick in the head was travelling around (in Ireland) and seeing sites of early civilization. Old buildings and monuments. Some of these were dated hundreds or thousands of years BEFORE the great flood. They simply shouldn't be here if the bible story is true. Seeing it with my own eyes had a big effect. Go to a museum and look at these old artifacts. The flood was supposedly around 2000BC. Anything older than that is proof.

  Oh - and my Dad has the Natalie Imbruglia "Left of the Middle" album, but quickly skips the track "Torn" because of the aweful word "naked" in it. BTW: I'm pretty sure I'm like jesus (immaculate conception) since my parents have never been naked.

  OFFICIAL REPORT STATS WANTED FOR 2007 NOT 2006!!!

  many thanks to the kind people, blondie included, who gave me the link to the jw stats.

  however, this link is for the 2006 stats which were published in the february 1st 2007 watchtower.. as made clear in an earlier thread, i'm looking for the 2007 stats which, for the first time, will not be published in the watchtower but which will be confined to the 2008 jw yearbook and our kingdom ministry insert.. are those stats available yet??

  let's also consider that the borg considers it essential that the brothers bring their young childer to all the meetings and make sure that they pay attention to the material.

  the material this week included a very detailed description of oral sex!

  Yes. Well for the most part anyway. I think there are a few places in the world where the translation lags a bit. But the spanish should definitly be in sync with the english. This is something that the orginazation prides themselves on. The unity.

  I remember a circuit assembly around 1980 where a whole list of banned bands were read out. Afterward a printed list was circulated. I only remember a few (I was too young to be into music yet).

  Around 1990 I heard that Depeche Mode were satan worshipers. My friends burned their albums, but I didn't. My girlfriend (now wife) was forced by her mom to throw out a Cure album. The sneaky girl swapped the album inside the sleeve for a Prince album and destroyed that one instead. (I think that's why I love her)

  i just read a piece on cnn about the commodore 64. apparently it is what hundreds of thousands of people (the article says "millions" -- really?

  I first had access to a TI 99/4a at school. There was only one for the whole school district - so only the "gifted" kids got access to it. Cut grass like mad for 2 summers and sold whatever I could to buy my first Atari 800. Freakin awesome! I totally customized the thing - it was very "ghetto" with extra switches and knobs and wires hangin' out. Don't have it any more, but still enjoy using an emulator on the PC to play M.U.L.E. with the wife.

  How can they care more about their meetings than their family?

  i have not posted for a good while now as have not felt the need, .

  am living in the real world away from jdub hell.. escaped dissing and now have a few friends (some ex jdub and some that have no clue what a jdub is!!

  my sister and i were extremely close but my departure has seperated us and we now rarely see each other.
