by Hiddenwindow indid anyone see the information on a recent watchtower study article (w-07 0/01, p. 30, 16) in which a witness who quitted his job and started selling ice cream on the streets in order to have more time to preach, is presented as a good example?
i found it extremely offensive and asked myself: are they really serious or is this joke?
but the worst part is that no one else in the hall seemed to find it offensive, with the exception of a ministerial servant who privately told me it was an act of disrespect on the part of the society.

by Maddie inthere seems to be very little in society that comes down to freedom of choice; by this i mean to be able to think and act in a manner that is completely without influence or manipulation from anything or anyone else.
it is true that a few individuals try to isolate themselves from society in different ways, but is their decision to do this influenced by experiences they may or may not be aware of?
we all like to believe that we have the option of deciding for ourselves what we want to do with our lives, but the odds are stacked heavily against this by the control mechanisms in our society.

Karma? hey..."what goes around comes around". I believe in Karma. I've been reading books from Dr. Wayne Dyer & Deepak Chopra and they to convey that say point. Even thinking negatively about someone contributes to people thinking negatively about us. Oooops! We gotta be careful there.

WOW...and that elder supposed to be in good standing after he get's out of prison? It will go nationwide sooner than later. It is very obvious as was posted in a previous posting, that God's spirit no longer remains in the Borg. (if it ever was). YEPP...the light is getting brighter and brighter and the trash is getting therefore exposed more and more and will get to the point where all of it's members will see the light too and will get OUT OF HER! Thank God!

I've been thinking something these past couple of days. There are soooooooooooooo many wonderful and loving people on this earth. Even though the Jdubs made us feel they were the only caring and loving people around. Is wickedness really within us from birth on? The tendency to steal or lie, yes, but to commit murder and other atrocious crimes, are these tendencies really within us too? I personally do not think so. I think the culprit to these crimes and behaviors are drugs (even Rx's), alcohol and maybe a birth defect, related to these chemicals or medical goof-ups. What are your opinions? Am I missing something? I have a more positive view of us humans and cannot put the blame on the individual him/herself but rather on something that influenced them.

Even after leaving the Borg some 7+ years later, my ingrained behavior to some degree is still within me. I talk to people, (not the Jdubs if I can help it) and have made a couple of good friends, who either moved away or died on me. Now I'm in a new town and don't know where to look. I tried the gym already, took one class at the college and attended a church for a few weeks. Guess I gave up on the latter a bit too soon. In anycase, I still can't be very conversational with most people. I hesitate to approach people and don't always initiate a conversation. I'm working on it though. As a Jdub, our only language with other people or within the congo was just that, another language and I do not speak it anymore. My life being boring in comparison to those in "the world", e.g. not having hobbies or talents to share with others, makes them hesitant to be a friend of mine too. What can I offer them? I'm working on that too. Sadly, it doesn't all come overnight.

that poor soul. Any who still think it's cool what he's doing, is still totally brainwashed and especially blind to reality. If the Borg was smart, they'd send all to college to get a BA, work jobs that pay enough for a person to get by working only a max. of 30 hrs. per week. giving them plenty of time for the FS and extra $$$$ to contribute. I'm kinda glad they aren't encouraging college education that much yet. Obviously, the article apparently is still discouraging it.

Haven't seen an elder in the last college I attended, but I did see a sister's daughter...she was in one of my classes. She was shunning me, but even if she was, I was truly happy to see her in college. Maybe she'll take a Philosophy of Religion class like I did and it will open her eyes to things?
