When hunting, it helps to be smarter than your prey. Very few JWs are smarter than the person they're trying to prey upon.

by Awakened07 inat least in western countries?
and if so - how will they solve it?

I brought up the 2012 issue on another thread on Monday, I believe. In my post, I was wondering if the JWs were going to start pointing toward that date, and now I hear that it was mentioned in a talk? Wow. Freaky. Maybe I'M the next prophet! All heed the words of prophet Dorktacular! Woo Hoo!

I know quite a few brothers who married "down", too. When young men in my congregation expressed frustration about the lack of sisters to date, the elders (some of them) actually suggested that we all go on road trips to different congregations on Sundays to see what we could find! To me, that was kind of like cruising the singles bars for a one night stand. Needless to say, many of these brothers snatched up the first thing they could find with two legs a hole and a heartbeat and settled down. One of my very good friends did this. He is now divorced from his worthless JW wife and remarried. And out of the borg. Yay. Another friend of mine finally found a "sister" to date. He did all kinds of stuff for her. Fixed her car, painted her house, loaned her money, etc., etc., and never got anything in return. She even accepted the engagement ring. When it came time to marry, she refused because he wasn't "spiritual" enough. He was good enough to do all this stuff for her before she dumped him, though. He went into a deep depression after this. I didn't see him for months. Well, a while back I learned that he, too left the borg after being DFed for "fornication". Hell, he tried his best to remain faithful in the organization, but just how damn old do you have to be before you lose your virginity??? He was in his early 30s. I think they should have given him a medal, personally!

The doorbell just rang, AND... it was some kids trying to get early Haloween candy. I gave them back issues of the watchtower instead. Hey, it was the scariest thing I can think of.

Do You Try To Be A Politically Correct Person? Why or Why Not???
by minimus inare you careful about what you say?
do you make sure that you won't offend anyone?
do you care??

I am definitely not politically correct. I always say what's on my mind, that way nobody will have to wonder "What did he mean by that?". I think if more people said what they meant, it would be easier to get along with people. You could continue talking to people who you get along with, and you can also quickly identify people who you shouldn't waste your time on.

I'm not racist but.....
by Burger Time insavemysoul made a good point that i have heard often.
semi/full blow racist remarks are usually started off with "i'm not racist but..." then add some blanket statement afterwards.
so is racism now the new gay?

I'm not racist, but...... LOL I fired a guy once. He happened to be black. But, that wasn't the reason that I fired him. So, he said, "You're just firing me because I'm black." I said, "No, actually, I'm not firing you becuase you're BLACK, I'm firing you because you're a DICK and you're costing me too much GREEN!"
I love people that say "I'm not a racist!" I think that's kind of a strange thing to say. Kind of like walking around and saying "I DO NOT have AIDS!" Why say that? It definitely makes people wonder.

Wow, some really good movies mentioned here. I mentioned a few already. But, now for another.....
I literally cried for joy at the end of "Lord of the Rings". My wife made me watch it. It was sooooo long and soooo boring, I actually cried tears of joy at the end when it was finally over. You know, kinda like I used to do as a kid when the District Convention was finally over!

We all miss Lewis Grizzard here in Atlanta. One of my favorite Lewis Grizzard quotes is something he said when asked if he would ever remarry and he said "No, I think I'll just find a woman that I don't like and buy her a house".
I always detested field service because I always felt like I was bothering people. And, in most cases, I was right! I also made it a point to religiously adhere to the Do Not Call list, unlike some of the other witnesses. I was different than most of the other JWs in the sense that I was actually interested to hear other points of view. One spring Saturday afternoon, I had a 2 hour discussion with a professor of religion that I happened to call on. He was a Hindu. Because we both had a mutual respect for the other's beliefs, we had a good conversation. Some of the "brothers" and "sisters" I used to go out in service with frequently got into arguments with him because they were so narrow-minded and opinionated.
I don't know where I was going with this.... just rambling again.

World Trade Center starring Nicholas Cage. That is the only movie I can ever remember leaving where the entire place was quiet. Not a single person talking; just the sound of stifled crying. I don't think my wife or myself said a single word on the way home, either. Very moving.
Bigmouth and Serg, yes Click and Forrest Gump are pretty sad, too.
