If my wife was sick, I'd take her to a doctor, not to a pyramid corporation's multi-level-marketing sales meeting. Just my .02

Clarify- I'm going back to Meetings to save my wifes sanity! What would you do?
by Witness 007 ini recently posted that my wife has had mental/depression problems since she hurt her back at work 12 months ago....and since after years of picking on the witnesses by me, she finally lost her faith in them and became in-active....victory i thought!
slowly her stress levels began to rise...she quit work and rehab....then the sleeplessness, wierd behavior..wild agression....bizzar stuff.
we split for two months after much stress...she called me back home crying and i relent...she lost many kilo's {pounds} in weight, and isn't doing well i want to help, i was heartbroken to see this.

Christ presence started in 1914: Acknowledge since 1925?
by Nick! inchrist presence started in 1914: acknowledged since 1925?.
according to the second wt article in the march 15th edition of this year, paragraph 4 states that (translation) jehovahs witnesses recognize since 1925 that the first world war and the events which followed, constitute a clear evidence that christ presence in his heavenly kingdom started in 1914.. could someone kindly scan the english version of the above article and post-it online?.
it is the first time, at least personally, that i read such a statement in a wt literature.. according to the book captive of a concept by don cameron, chapter 3 page 22-23, the first time the wt recognized that christs presence happened in 1914, was only in 1943.. how is it possible that this article of 2009 points to the year 1925 as the time when the jw first recognized the true event associated with 1914?.

Proclaimers chap. 10 p. 137
Growing in Accurate Knowledge of the Truth
As the events following 1914 began to unfold and the Bible Students compared these with what the Master had foretold, they gradually came to appreciate that they were living in the last days of the old system and that they had been since 1914. They also came to understand that it was in the year 1914 that Christ's invisible presence had begun and that this was, not by his personally returning (even invisibly) to the vicinity of the earth, but by his directing his attention toward the earth as ruling King. -

Feburary 15, 2009 Watchtower Study Edition
by bronzefist inhttp://www.sendspace.com/file/2bs4od.
once again a heavy on jesus issue, because the memorial is approaching.
the "fds" also want blondie to calm down because she's always bringing up the lack of jesus being mentioned in the majority of the issues.. the picture of the 125th gilead graduation on page 23 caught my eye thanks to jwd.

Blood guilt for sweater selection? That'd be sweater guilt. Lemme check . . . Yup! That's in my Bible. -

"We missed you at the meeting"
by tresdecu ini have grown to hate this statement with a a passion.
as an ms i vowed never to say it, because it never really sounded caring.
it was just a subtle guilt trip.. anyway...my reason for starting this thread is that a 'bible study' i know, (who i am aquianted with other than him being a b.s.

I couldn't make the meeting. I was in a pie making contest and I was beat by a cow.

The Bismarck, North Dakota facility was a rented public building used for events. It's a very nice facility by the way. The Dewayne Matz guarded vending machine in Bismarck was unguarded and 3/4 full on Friday. I got Lifesavers out of the machine Friday . . . no problem.
Saturday when we went to visit the machine it had butcher paper covering it with a hand lettered "OUT OF ORDER" message written on it. I was surprised that the machine was out of order because it had worked flawlessly the day before. I pulled the paper away and I could see that the machine had been visited by the custodian and it was fully stocked. I thought I'd check to see if it was really broken and it worked.
That's when the two security guards swooped in and belly pushed us away from the machine. One of them said: "The machine is out of order . . . B R O T H E R!". I said: "You're a liar . . . B R O T H E R!".
Did I ever mention that I hate to be called . . . "B R O T H E R!"? -

I called the attendant that told me the machine was "out of order", a liar, and I called Matz out. The two attendants demanded my name and what congregation I attended. I told them and they trotted off to retrieve Matz. Of course Matz wasn't about to face me.
When they came back without Matz I asked them where Matz was. They looked at each other and said he wasn't coming:-) They said Matz told them to tell me I could use the machine but "keep it to a minimum". I gave them a rather profound, if graphic, message to return to Matz. I never heard if he took my suggestion. I rather doubt he tried it.
That was the last district assembly I ever bothered to go to.
The Witnesses kept coming up with ways that made it easy for me to not like them. Belly pushing me and a three year old because I bought the three year old a Rainbow Lifesavers roll of hard candy out of a stocked, working vending machine that they didn't own was just one of many uniquely offensive tactics the Witnesses used on me.
The Jehovah's Witnesses work harder to drive people away than most groups work to attract members. I hope they keep it up. -

I had a brother once too. I gotta think the only thing worse than not having a family at all is having a Witness family.

Nisan 14 or 15? April 8 or 9?
by undercover ina little help from the scholarly types would be appreciated here.... the jw memorial is on april 9th this year.
the society teaches that jesus had passover with his apostles and then the last supper (one incident split into two but that's another argument) after sundown nisan 14. jesus was then betrayed, tortured and impaled (crucified - whatever) the following day, still nisan 14th before sundown (which would usher in nisan 15).. http://www.watchtower.org/e/19980315/article_01.htm.
according to the hebrew calender, nisan 14th falls on april 8th this year.

The Watch Tower celebrates a meal. Christians celebrate the resurrection. I celebrate anything and everything.

AK - Jeff, That's not shunning. Shunning is "staying away from". That's snubbing . . . just plain rude.
HA! When I answer they just hang up. Gary to self: "Gee, we sure get a lot of wrong numbers when I answer!". That kind of toned down when we got caller ID. Now Mrs. Gary has private cell phone, so the water walkers can call her without risking hearing my voice. Hahahaha!
