A big issue for me when I disconnected from the Witnesses when I was 30 years old was I didn't have a long term plan for my life. Even for me, the constant Witness doom and gloom indoctrination took it's toll. I lived my life for the short term. I had a constant feeling of impending doom.
It's hard to work for a long term goal when inside I feel like I'm gonna be struck dead any minute.
Actually the things I did right were accidental. I worked hard, but without direction. In my early 30's I started to get a business education. Growing up a Witness, I didn't have any practical models. My dad saw success as failure and he worked to stay below the line of poverty. In that context, my dad modeled what I didn't want to be.
I lacked real heroes and teachers. Witnesses taught me that success is a sin and education is dangerous. My good luck was finding good mentors in business. They taught me basics. I started to read . . . a lot. I was fascinated with the history of Henry Ford. I read everything I could find about Ford the man.
I took college courses that helped me in business. I went to every demonstration and seminar I could go to. I took CPA courses. Later I look commercial real estate management, investment and brokerage classes. Now I define success as friends, security as health, and happiness as comfort.
Anybody who says money won't buy happiness doesn't know where to shop.

It's true. They can also make contact for family emergencies (such as storm emergencies, illnesses, and deaths), as well as business. Witnesses spell business - "bu$ine$$".
It's called fractional shunning. It only works if the shunner and the shunnee agree to the terms. The Watch Tower Corporation is the third party beneficiary to the agreement . . . as always. -

friday, 17 april 2009. fern led the way in may 2002.. marley was used by the wtb&ts, just like the rest of the great crowd.. the wtb&ts wanted a book to counter schnell's "watchtower slave," and so marley wrote that "jehovah's witnesses: the new world society" in 1955 with the full blessing of nathan knorr.
the book sold well because dubs were told from the podium of their kingdom halls to go out and buy that book.. but a couple of years later, in 1957, it was a different story.

I was glad. I had been laboring under the delusion that Jehoover was going to murder me for not doing better working for his printing company. Now I was going to get to live a life, get old, and die. I like it! -

What Did You Do With All Your Watchtower Publications?

i mentioned this to an exjw.
he and his wife took all the hundreds of books, including bound volumes from the 1800s and are now using them for research and proof of watchtower lies.. what did you do with your books?.

I unpacked our family collection of Watch Tower Publishing Corporation books and put them on the shelf, then I bought missing items like Yearbooks and old Watchtower magazines. I read most of Russell's work and much of Rutherford's before I made a word by word study of the books used to indoctrinate me when I was a kid like the Let God Be True books.
I read the Reasoning book cover to cover. Then I read it's two predecessors. That was all before modern computers and before the Internet. Now, it's much easier and more fun too. -

...Radical New Canadian Sewer System!!...
by OUTLAW ini`m looking for a new home in the canadian mountains..so i`m out checking houses..one house in particular caught my attention.............it`s an older home,with a river in the back..about 600 ft down....a frigg`n cliff!!..lol!
!....it has an interesting sewer system..you flush a toilet and the waste go`s down into a pipe..the pipe run`s along the bottom of the house,to the back of the house..the pipe ends at the back of the house and hangs..open..600ft above the river bank..the "poop" just shoots out the back of the house and falls 600 ft to it`s death!!..lol!
!................on the way down you can hear the "poop" scream!.........i think the theory is behind this sewer system is:to scare the shit out of the poop,before it hits the rocks 600 ft below....

Add another reason for me not to want to live in the mountains. Here my poop goes into an underground tank for storage until a truck comes to pick it up. Then the truck drives to the creek and dumps it off the side of the hill. Much better.

What is the Truth? How do you Define it?
