This is my experience too. Witnesses I know, don't know their own religion at all, and even less about the Bible they claim to know so well. It's all an act. A comedy!

Jehovah's Witnesses do not know their own doctrines
by BonaFide ini am still active to try and help family and friends, so that's why i say we.
i know i have brought this up before, but i cannot get over the fact that every service group i go in, and every dinner after the meeting, or coffee or whatever, no one seems to be reading the magazines.
no one understands the doctrines of the generation, 1919, not even blood.. when i bring up one of those subjects, one in the group will repeat the phrase we learned at the meetings, such as "blood fractions is not really blood" or "i think the generation refers more to the anointed or something like that.

6/15 WT- GB More Powerful than Worldwide Anointed- Don't Judge Partaking
by flipper inmore of the latest from the june 15th " witness only " watchtower.
under the article " the faithful steward and it's governing body " there were some very telling quotes which could indicate how the wt society is tightening the control of it's members - and trying to justify more partaking of the emblems at the memorial since the numbers partaking have gone up from about 8,000 to 10,000 since they no longer feel that the sealing of the anointed ended in 1935.. so first off, notice this quote indicating the importance of elevating the governing body over the rest of the anointed around the earth.
paragraph 16 it states , " are all these anointed ones throughout the earth part of a global network that is somehow involved in revealing new spiritual truths ?

The repetitive tone of the last few years just shows that the current leaders aren't secure in their leadership roles. How many who have worked for someone else have had the experience of the boss telling employees every week that he's the boss?
I worked for Sunshine over 8 years and George Sercil never once told me he was the boss. Why not? It was obvious! It was unmistakable. It's not unmistakable that the Jehovah's Witness governing body is boss of anything and they know it. -

WT Society's Skewed View of Speaking Truth - June 15th Witness Only WT
by flipper inonce again our lurking jw friend sent us a copy of the june 15th " witness only " watchtower.
all i can say is that the wt society sure knows how to compartmentalize and pick and choose how they view truth and honesty.
i'll share some of these " golden nuggets " and see what you think.

East 6th St in Sioux Falls is having the special talk tomorrow, May 3. I have an invitation. The invitation was delivered to the door of a dead guy who was a local Witness for like . . . 55 years. I was impressed that the Witnesses are even inviting dead people. I'd say that's pretty thorough.
I attended a talk one time where I'm pretty sure the guy giving the talk was actually dead. If he was alive he sure as heck did a hell of a job fooling me. -

What it was like...
by bazackward inafter posting yesterday about help with the situation with my grandma, i got an idea for mother's day.
any of you with some spare time could probably help me out.. it has to do with better understanding my own mother.
for those of you who were born in the 50's, could you maybe take a minute or two to help me understand what it was like to grow up as a jw especially around that time frame?

I started first grade in 1950. I was peddling religious fiction tabloids alone at stranger's doors when I was 7. We were required to clock in 40 hours a month and that was my average most months. The printing company distributed plans to clock in 10 hours a week, more in the summer.
Everything took second place . . . sleep, school work, and recreation. Gas for my dad's service car came before money for food. I went to bed hungry till I was about 12. Then I was allowed to have an orange before bedtime. Sometimes we made popcorn on non-meeting nights. Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday nights we didn't get home early enough to make popcorn. Thursday we rarely got home before 11 pm.
My dad was an ignorant, superstitious, religious fanatic and my mother suffered from a severe case of untreated anxiety disorder. Home was crazy, the kingdom hall was crazy, and I was the dunce at school for never completing assigned homework. Life sucked! -

Did You "Care" About Disfellowshipped People?
by minimus inas a witness, i was trained not to feel bad for "those that left us".
if they didn't want to stay, that was their decision.
if they decided to stop the "sweet fellowship" of the brotherhood, we needed to avoid them so that they could miss us, see the error of their way and "come back to jehovah".. when you were a jehovah's witness, did you avoid disfellowshipped ones and mentally stop caring about them?.

" . . elders need to use balance , reasonableness , and good judgment . . "
Well, that eliminates every elder I ever knew.
