a close friend of mine who is still an active dub believes it is ok for a spouse to leave their partner if they found out that they did not believe the society had the truth.
in other words, if a loyal jw spouse found a copy of coc in their partner's possession, it's perfectly justified for that spouse to walk out on the marriage.
so i said to him, did jesus allow for divorce not only for fornication, but for possessing coc or simply no longer believing the society has the truth?
I am in exactly that postion. I like posting here because I do not want to precipitate what I beleive to be inevitable. I agree with jgnat we should and will choose. If it happens sooner ok . It is a shame that a cult that trumpets family values should put divisions between spouses when they leave, or ii it the beleiving spouse who does this? Either way.

I am not particularly botherd about being outed here, I have given enough clues to those who know me to work it out, even my name giives a big clue. I do howevver have one problem or is it caveat. my Jw daughter who is is 14 and lovely everything I could ask except JW (working on that) I would want to cause her problems? I am not df so in thier eyes ok so i let it rest. Btw Dansk lost that thread of yours that I said I would get back on can you point me in the right direction please?

lately, i've seen more than a few unhappy couples go their own way and do their own thing.
one guy i know regularly dates women only on friday nights but comes home to his wife the rest of the time.
my impression is she doesn't want to know what he's doing------just as long as he comes home to her.. i know a state senator's wife who has 2 kids and she's miserable with her politician/lawyer husband but in public they look like the perfect couple.
I am married and whilst I might tempted i would not. Life is complicated enough. As you know my wife is Jw and I have not gone for years. I have as you can imagine many fundamental differences with her. that she does not even want to discuss. Also nobody seems to bring in about children and thier feelings. I will work it out when thier older.
Btw just to contradict myself and lighten this up a bit as you can see i live in England, anyone heard ot the royal family? They semm to be at it before during and after marriage!

Hi Danske just picked up your thread I will look up the your legal citings. I do agree it as a possible way in to hurt them financially but as your discovring tricky. All trusts are basically tax dodges with varying degrees of altruism underpinning them. Relgions are supposed to be altruistic Q.E.D trust status usually guaanteed. i joined this site about a week ago and have enjoyed reading all the posts and chatter.
i was raised in the jws, baptized at 17 (didn't know any better) but once i got married and had a baby, i just didn't have enough time to go to all the meetings during the week.
we got the "shepherding calls" and pretty much were looked down on for not going to all the meetings.

One of your stories reminded me of something. My daughter when she was a baby never slept through the night - hardly slept at all at night- anyway i often uded to walk her round in the pram hoping to get her to sleep -we are talking 1 2 3 a.m. here , and we used to see the daughter of an elder and her then bf - now husband walking alone unchaparoned and very much in love. You guessed nothing said. Her dad was an a very severe elder.
Ps my daughter now 14yrs was worth every red eyed minute and can sleep forever!
