If Adam did not sin, would humans have lived forever on earth?
by jwfacts inthe new testament talks consistently of a heavenly hope, not an earthly one and the idea that humans are to live forever on earth is not supported scripturally at all.. however, what would have happened if adam and eve had not sinned.
the watchtower likes to make the point that it is only sin that caused adam and eve to die.
romans 5:12 that is why, just as through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned.. what do christians believe regarding this scripture?

Possible scene for book. Opinions needed: DEATH OF PASTOR RUSSELL
by Terry inpastor russell lay dying.. outside the sleeper car pampas, texas flatland spun by like a charabanc ride.. fits of shivering and cramps wrenched his gut throughout the long night.
the cup of hot tea at bedtime had soothed and left him drowsy.
later, cramps took hold and wrung him out.. his spectacles lay carefully folded beside his bible like a dead spider.

.....for one more passing moment Pastor Russell was a young boy again. From his family's home came his mother's voice, "Come now, supper!". Tempting smells of a home cooked meal gently carassed his senses. As he eagerly sat at the family table, barely able to contain his youthful hunger through the prayer, he eagerly bit into the fresh cooked meat. A large savory bite. The pink juice running down his young chin. Then panic. What was happening? The room grew darker and he heard his family calling to him. Their voices receeding into the blackness that enveloped him.
Much later, it is said his father, shaken to his core, vowed he would never eat blood sausage again. He forever wondered what great things his son could have accomplished if he only would have lived. The only morsel of solice the family tasted from that day on was in their church.

i've done many of the things for which a person should be df'd over the many years since but i don't know whether i am df'd.

My Experience.....
by NomadSoul ini was raised a jw since childhood up to the age of 16. at that age i decided that i didn't want to go to to the meetings.
that decision was taken in lew of reading a lot about different philosophies.
i didn't consider one philosophy to be right, but everyone of them had something that inspired me to be a better person.

How can anyone really know the true "numbers". Just looking at Iraq they don't count civilian deaths or deaths of soldiers wounded who die later. The JWs were there and Hitler included them with the Jews, Gypsies, disabled, ad nauseum. I think that if any statistics are made it just shows that this relatively small group of people along with many others were targeted, persecuted and killed. That being said, the society should try not to pad the numbers. Hitler's actions spoke for themself. I don't think it very kind to say "they got what they deserved" as they were true "believers" and they themselves were not acosting, torturing or killing anyone.

So good it will make your brains fall out...
by Gregor inget a tub of fresh chicken livers.
rinse, dry with a paper towel and dredge them in a beaten egg and roll them in bread crumbs mixed with some garlic and onion salt, paprika, black pepper and a little chili powder.. fry them in about a 1/2 inch of hot oil to a nice golden brown (the liver cooks before the batter browns so don't worry about raw liver).
drain and cool.

Newb Introduction....
by KenseiShimonzu ini'd like to formally introduce myself to everyone here,as the title,and my post count reflects...i'm new around here although i think i may have stumbled across the site sometime before i decided to stop going down there at all,because it looks very familiar,i could have sworn i read an article about jw's real involvement in the holocaust on here at some time.
i've seen some very interesting topics hereabouts,as well as point of views,just wish i would have found you guys sooner so that i could have avoided that whole "thing" down there.
but anyways,this is my formal "hello" to everyone,and hope we can be friends.
