Is the WT banning vasectomies?
by B_Deserter ini talked to a dub friend of mine who said they had a new "it's a personal choice, but jehovah will kill you if you do it" article about vasectomies.
basically, the reasoning is supposedly that since jehovah gave us our reproductive organs, tampering with them is wrong if not medically necessary.

ugh... plaintive letter to return to the KH
by chickpea ingot a letter today from a really nice guy who was in the bs group that met in my home for 10+ yrs.... privy to some of the huge issues my family has faced.... smart enough guy, ubm, at least one grown kid in and married into a huge 2nd/3rd generation family, grandkids yada yada...... he saw, but did not speak to me, at the school performance i alluded to in another post........ http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/156961/1.ashx......... as far as i know we never even made eye contact..... it was a crowded event in an elementary school but i saw him as he and his wife arrived late and scurried for seating.
at any rate.... this is part of a letter that came in the mail today ..... i cannot believe the spin that the r&f are fed and seem to swallow down without the fava beans and nice chianti ( i do not mean to berate his heartfelt and genuinely offered plea.... i just cannot stomach the blind allegiance to the b0rg) .
i have talked to a few of the friends about what can be done to encourage you and your family and decided to simply put a few thoughts in a letter.

Your response is soooo good. It is so much more kind without a hint of judgement. I just don't know if it's worth the time thinking about him or them. His letter just makes me mad. The old "if you don't do what we want you are gonna die....and sooon!!!!!!" mode. Who really wants to serve God out of fear???? Better to be a mafia wife. If it makes you feel better he probably counted the time he used composing this letter.

24th Of April- The anniversary of The Armenian Genocide
by justhuman intoday is a day to remember what happened before 93 years in turkey.
over of 1.5 millions armenians were massacred by the turks, in one of the most brudal genocides of the 20th century.
there are no words to describe what savage ways did the turks used against the armenian population.. today 93 years after armenians demand the recognition of the genocide by turkey and international community, the return of the armenians to their ancestral land, and the condemnation and punishment of the crime to prevent the occurance of such crimes in the future.

I'm sorry and angry on your behalf.
I met a woman who is Bosnian and the leaders of the genocide in Bosnia were found not guilty of war crimes by The Hague. They had rape camps and slaughtered thousands and the dog breed that is native to that area along with many native wildlife are still being decimated by all the land mines that are still there. You don't take a walk in the countryside there. Untill those who commit these horrible crimes against humanity are held accountable I don't know what we can do. (This includes Pres Bush and George Chenny...oh and thank you Bill Clinton for refusing to make landmines illegal).
There should be a lot of pressure put on Turkey and maybe if you write to every one in cong and senate and all world leaders you can begin the change.
There are just so many millions who have been murdered who will never be heard unless someone speaks for them.

I was raised in it. Really didn't like not being able to be "normal". Had some difficulty with some of the concepts but can't believe to this day how I swallowed the Gov Body thing. When I was married my husband and I visited NY and toured Bethel, the farm etc. Rather than confirm my faith it shook me up. Now I don't believe in anything, don't trust anything, working on believing in myself. It wrecked my whole family. Oh well, just gotta keep on truckin.

Elders Asking For Your Number
by minimus intoday i saw 2 elders at my mother's , waiting outside, "worrying" that something might've happened to her because she didn't answer her door.
(i had just brought her back from her doctor's appt.).
when they saw me, one immediately said, we want your number to call you in case we need to get in touch with you.

Your most memorable Kingdom Hall meeting disruptions!
by easyreader1970 ini remember about twenty years ago some teenagers were caught fornicating in one of the additional schools.
the schools were downstairs, essentially separated from the rest of the kh.
they weren't just happened upon, though.

I remember a street drunk sitting in the back during the memorial and he drank the entire glass of wine.
Two brothers yelling right before the meeting one yelling, "You stay away from my wife!!!!!!!"
People smacking their kids and then taking them to the "spanking room" hauling them by one arm that grew in length as they were dragged back there. Some would yell, "Not the spanking room, Not the spanking room".
The "spanking room" was also a library and a second school. I walked in there on a brother and his wife having a verbal knock down drag out.
Had a Norwegan elderly brother who was kind of loosing it mentally who would always raise his hand to answer at the WT and would go on forever...in Norwegian.
When my dad would come to meetings he would time the brothers prayers to see who gave the longest. He would also stop by a store on the way home from the memorial and by Mogan David wine and we would all have some when we got home.

Book study reminiscing - what was your memorable bookstudy experience.
by yadda yadda 2 ini must admit to feeling a bit nostalgic, sentimental now about the loss of the good old home book study arrangement.
there are many rather pleasant memories coming to the mind of various homes i attended for the book study.
i can still remember vividly most of them.. it had a warm, convivial, family feel about it.

I think the book study was my fav. It was doable. That's where you would really get to know people. We had one at our house. And yes farting was the best part. I still crack up (so to speak) when people fart. She's 89 and farts ALL the time. She totally ignores it. Maybe it helps propel her.

Yup. No toys. No imagination. Just chores. And yes. The "men" involved here aren't out there wanting their kids back. They know they will be charged with sex with an underaged child, polygamy, and welfare fraud, interfering with a federal investigation and who knows what else. Wouldn't it be nice that all that money were demanded to be returned to the working taxpayers. Have assets been frozen? Are they overseas? Buried in MJB coffee cans outside of The Great Salt Lake? Once again we see these d''kheads hiding behind their womens ever so long unattriactive skirts while they take the money and run. What's left? if the Matriarchial DNA can proove the link to the actual mothers and ages of children are confirmed to be from illegal peremeters then what? The father/sperm donor is long gone. Mothers' aren't equipped to make a living so they continue to live off the dole of the "unbelievers" (ie legitmate taxpayers). What a mess. All the men should have been gathered up at the same time but me thinks they already had a plan for this very situation of "prosecution" (or is it human trafficking in the name of a God who's main thoughts are of a penis, or is it just the rights of the God Givin rights of the protate son's of God.)

So excited I could *pOp*
by LouBelle inokay - for the last hour 2 friends and i have been sitting and talking business.
it started out as a joke on how we could digitise magazine and download them into a very real business idea re: the soccer world cup happening here in 2010.. it is a brilliant idea, which i will share in completion once we have registered / patented it so that it can't be stolen.
plus plus we can use it to uplift previously disadvantaged people, the only thing is they may not be able to cope with the demand - how awesome is that - i'm going to be helping people make a living - wow - skipping with happiness.. i haven't been this excited for a looooooooooooooooong time - i really do feel like my brain could pop with all the ideas - the thing is ... it's so so doable.
