Since when are the Elders or the GB Clergy? Isn't their whole act based on being "unlettered and ordinary"?

Is it clergy privilege?
by StarTrekAngel injust wanted to pose the question to the group and see what the general opinion is vs what the wt may have claimed in other cases.. we all know that they have argued over clergy privilege when elder learn of a crime but keep quiet about it.
regardless of what one may feel about this, lets assume for a minute that they are correct.. all elders are directed to contact the branch when they learn of a case of child abuse.
would the conversation between the elder and the branch be considered under the "clergy privilege"?

Research help needed: knowledge of Knights Templar and Masonic history vital
by Fay Dehr ini am in conversation with a uk historian regarding some knights templar locations, where jws have built buildings.
*** this is serious research - not a joke *** .
i am not - and do not wish to be - a conspiracy theorist, but something has come to light in the uk and i lack the knowledge of knights templar + masons.

You might want to look up Max Dasau (sp) She is an American born anthropologist who has done primo work on the feminine in worship history. She will shock you. The patriarchy has done everything within it's power to eradicate the feminine worship in history. Artifacts destroyed etc. Fasten your seat belt.

Having been raised in it I see a lot of similarities. You kind of are aware of the customs of the land but no investment of any kind. Christmas, birthdays, holidays. You know them but are not part of them...and never will be. You can't have worldly friends. Sometimes entire childhoods without social norms creates weird social interaction that is hard to change. You are much less educated than most. You are not well read. You are limited to exposure to the opposite sex..unless you marry them. You have no sense of hope, future or dreams.Your self-esteem is zero. Your thinking is circular and/or black and white. Your affection is conditional. And in the land of JW if you don't play by their rules you are spiritually and emotionally killed off by shunning. Brain washing is the same In JW land, No Korea etc.

GB and Moses—an interesting similarity!
by Ireneus inmoses is the symbol of divorcing anyone who acts smarter and exhibits sharper spiritual insight.
his wife, zipporah, daughter of a pagan midianite priest (exodus 2.15-22), was more spiritual and had keener spiritual insight than moses.
on one occasion she averted a disaster by acting promptly (by performing the act of circumcision on their son) thus saving moses from being killed by jehovah’s angel which ultimately helped the israelites’ exodus from egypt.

Hummmmm. Does this mean that like Moses the GB will not be allowed into the new system.

Not posted for a year because mum died did not want blood.
by Witness 007 ini posted here weekly until a year ago when my mum died of a mild form of lukemia which is easy to treat with 2 blood tranfusions a month.
you can live to 100 with treatment, but no my mum chose to die a faithful witness after 2 years of chemo and hell for her family and doctors.
her chemo doctor cried when she only had weeks left to live knowing that she could be saved with one bag of blood!

elder from my former cong
by jookbeard ini left the wts in the early 1990's and i was baptised at the same assembly as this elder and his wife in the late 1980's they were probably in their early 50's back then, you know the kind; get called on, become a study and take to life as a jw like a duck takes to water, a dream call for all jw's and we went onto to be good friends with them over the years, the book study was held in their house also, he quietly progressed up the jw ladder became an ms then elder, a few months after i started my fade i saw him one day while i waited for a bus and he acknowledged me i said hi etc and he started a verbal tirade towards me about me knowing its the truth, how close we are living to the end, how stupid i was turning my back on it etc blah blah blah, i couldn't really get a word in edge ways, i bid him good day and that was that, he really was quite angry, i never saw him again until recently over 25 years later when him and his wife and their son were having a meal in my local pub, he was standing at the bar ordering, i saw him acknowledged him said hi and he looked straight through me, he said "do i know you ?
" i replied " hey eddie its jookbeard from the ********** congregation, surely you remember me?
" he said sorry i've never seen you before in my life, his wife came over to help him with his drinks and i said "hey pat, how are you?

The glass prison
by Normalfulla incognitive dissonance.
a term i came to learn about after waking up as i'm sure many of us here did.
i was thinking of how this condition is similar to the proverbial glass prison, how jw are unknowingly confined by the walls of their belief while observing life around them but are truly captives to a concept as ray put it.. .

I've been out a while and I still tend to be an observer and not a participant.
