Of course the younger the better. I was 8 months old when my mom chose to destroy two families with her personal new path. The younger the more damage to the child. However, many become JW's later in life. It is almost ALWAYS because they are in a crises of some kind or just so bored with so many things that they get hooked on having the "Truth" over the entire history of the world.

by jwfacts inmy step daughter went to the memorial, which is her first meeting in many months.
a 7 year old girl came up to her and asked if she is baptised and when will she get baptised.. my sister has a 4 year old daughter.
when she was introduced to another 4 year old one question she asked was "does he love jehovah.".

Welcome James, I agree with others to sit tight and make friends at school build a life so that when you can leave you have somewhere to go that you have built. It will just make your family life hell if you shake things up. In the meantime keep reading the postings here to build your choice from facts. You are so lucky to be aware so young.

(the judge) said... "it was more like a third-party investigation into immoral conduct."...
the judge said, the elders' duty was to determine guilt and to protect the congregation, not to keep the communications under wraps.

You never really leave unless you can accept that you were brainwashed and you need to take steps to change what your mind has been filled with. For many years I still believed the doctrines and talk about not just having "congitive dissonance" I was a billboard for it. It is the ultimate sad and depressed state of being living every day knowing God absolutely WILL destroy you having your eyeballs melt out of your head etc because that is what the WT told you. You simply cannot have more happiness than sadness living that way. Your interpretations of everything will still be filtered thru WT interpretation and you will never be able to set real boundries in your life and will always be bowing and accepting to what you feel are authoritive figures.
Have your friend read C of C. and check into this website. It won't hurt...might help.

How Many Here Are Born Again Christians Now?
by lovelylil injust wondering how many ex -jw's have become born again christians and whether or not this happened while you were still in the wt organization?
also, what is your experience now with god and christ?

I think I have but it's been hard. Being raised in that thought process and then leaving sets you up for being in a reality you are not equipped for. Have made some dumb choices on people I've let into my life. When you are in the borg it is hard to have your own boundries because they have always been set for you. I've done many things that are so cool that I could not have done inside the borg. For many years I still believed it was the "truth" which is more toxic than poison. Still...I'd rather be "here" than "there".
I am eternally grateful for the people that post on this site...from all over the world no less. How great is that?!?!
