My comfort food is pasta...pasta...pasta!
Last night, I even tried a "raw pasta sauce" for the first time. Fresh toamtoes, garlic, olive oil, basil, fresh ground pepper. Allow it to marinate for a few hours on the kitchen counter, and serve over pasta. It was so fresh and summery!:-)
And even though I am not a meat eater, a big comfort food for me in winter is good old fashioned beef stew that has simmered all day in the slow cooker. Not too much beef...but lots of potatoes, carrots, turnip, and onions. Yum!!!

What is your comfort food?
by compound complex indear fellow gourmands,.
i have completed the polishing off of a sizeable portion of fettuccine, smothered with an ordinary tomato sauce including ground beef, lottsa herbs, extra virgin olive oil and topped with grated romano and chopped italian parsely.. therefore, i am in a state complete and utter satisfaction.
what foods - dishes - feed your soul as well as your belly?.

A little humor about forums/thought this might make everyone laugh
by restrangled inhow many forum members does it take to change a light bulb?from snoggle, for about.com.
1 to change the light bulb then post about it 14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could've been changed differently 1 to move it to the lighting folder 2 to argue and then move it to the electrical folder 7 to point out grammar/spelling errors in post about changing light bulbs 5 to flame the spell checkers 3 to correct spelling/grammar flames 6 to argue whether it's a light bulb or lightbulb 2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper tern is lamp 15 know it all who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb is perfectly correct 19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take the discussion to the lightbulb forum 11 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum 36 to discuss the dangers of changing light bulbs without a professional opinion 5 to post a disclaimer that they are not light bulb experts, nor do they play one on tv and that anyone planning on changing their own light bulb should consult a professional 7 to post urls where one can see examples of different light bulbs 4 to post that the urls were posted incorrectly and then to post the correct urls 3 to post about links they found from the urls that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group 13 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add, "me too.
" 5 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy 4 to say, "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?

Summer, this is a perfect example of what I'm saying. I didn't think too much of the letter to God that I wrote. In fact, although many could see where I was coming from, I thought it might stir up some contempt as well. If you're from Ottawa, perhaps we should have a tea and discuss quantitative mathematics. Just kidding, that's my brothers bag. See, I am getting better.
Tea is fine. But hhmm...I will pass on the quantitative maths
As for the letter to God, what can I say? For whatever reason, it touched me. Goodness, I even saved it.
It was part of your healing process and I am glad to read you are getting better

YOUR DAILY JOURNAL
by compound complex indear friends,.
much of what we do on a daily basis is routine and of no particular, earth-shaking importance.
however, after reviewing letters of family going back to wwii, it is fascinating to read what dad was doing on board the aircraft carrier in the pacific on any old day, what mom was cooking on her ever-steaming range, how i was dealing with the roller coaster of emotion at bethel [mom saved all my letters], how nana wrote that she would not study with the witnesses [per my request] but 'here are some mittens i knitted for you when you canvass new york with your magazines.

Dear Diary...
This morning feels like the calm after the storm. Simon's announcement felt like a tornado sweeping over JWD.
What happens now? Most posters have made sure they will keep in touch with those who mean the most to them. Others are looking for a new shelter, once again asking "where do I go now"? While others decided it was the right opportunity to finally give real life a try.
Me? I found two new homes. A small one, nice and cozy. And a bigger one, that is much similar to JWD already. It feels good in a way to start from scratch...a new beginning. And my wish is for all to find their own new niche.
"Change is the constant, the signal for rebirth, the egg of the phoenix."

And Tyrone...
Your contribution to me is a letter that you wrote a while ago...
"Dear God. It's 7am, and I just can't sleep..."
How many times did I read this letter??? I cannot tell...
Thank You and the best to you {from your Ottawa neighbor:-} -
