my girls came in sunday, we hit the trails on the sandia mountains right away.
i no more than got into 4 low and slammed into a boulder that was over the crest of the first hill.
lesson number 1...if you can't see completely over it...get out and look.
We'd go out 4x with our daughter when she was 6 months or so in a 79 Ford Truck. Of course we'd be safer than usual, but we'd blast the radio and hit the hills. She'd fall fast asleep. Our friend rolled his Pathfinder our last time before we moved to TN. Good times.
You're making great memories with the kids and the view is killer!

this thursday i will be attending my very first, real, live, thanksgiving dinner with some extended ("worldy") family.
i'm pretty excited.
i guess it might sound kind of silly to a lot of people, but then again, i've never celebrated any holiday in my entire life (born and raised in dub-world).
Our first too, and I am hosting!!! I will be imbibing alot of wine on Thursday!

all in the family is one of the very best series, in my opinion.. when i see re-runs of the andy griffith show, i smile.
when i was a kid, i never really appreciated don knotts and the gang as much as i do now.. taxi was another favorite.

my sister was recently disfellowshipped and she told me that she was eating in a restaurant yesterday when the elder that disfellowshipped her was seated at the table next to her.
of course they would not breathe a word to her.
but her son (4 years old) had kept saying hello over and over to the elder and his wife and they both refused to acknowledge him, smile of even say hello back.
Happened to my daughter at school in the office. The secretary asked why the sister wouldn't talk to her. The sister looked even more stupid when my daughter said it was because we are no longer her religion.
I, like others,have found more love and compassion out of the organization that prides itself on love amongst themselves.

I'm going to go to Playa del Ray Mexico with my family instead of the convention. I've never done anything but conventions in the summer my whole life.

My sympathies. My dad will be gone for 13 yrs in March. The pain eases a bit, the hole in your soul remains.
