Chris Webber for Kenny Thomas was the worst trade ever. But I really like what I'm seeing from Hawes, and the kid's only 19!! Hopefully we'll be rebuilt by 2010. There's reason for optimism.
Great Laker game last night. ;-)
are any of you nba fans?
if so who do you cheer for and how do you think your team will do as we near the end of the regular season?.

i don't know if anyone else here buys or sells on ebay.
i'm thiking some do.
ebay has announced dramatic new policy changes to begin in may 2008 which spell disaster for many honest and ethical sellers and buyers such as myself who have given their blood, sweat and tears to make ebay what it is today.
I just wanted to note after being called "rude" and told to "chill out," the actual information posted on the upcoming EBay changes are NOT the same as indicated in the hysterical opening message.
I didn't intend to offend anyone personally. But feel free to take offense if you need some.

That post smacks of spam e-mail along the lines of "For every person you forward this to Bill Gates will send you ONE MILLION DOLLARS!"
C'mon people, escaping the WTS should make you LESS gullible. The exclamation points, poor grammar, bizarre comparison (EBay compared to Enron?? How??), and overall panicky personality make me believe that the whole thing is probably made up or at least severely exaggerated.
It just plays on the victim mentality of people who are prone to believe that every large corporation is evil and out to get you.
Let me just say I have NOT looked into the allegations made... frankly I don't see a need to. From a business perspective, I find it highly unlikely that EBay would institute the policies described.
Also... the internal logic of the complaint is invalid. First, it's said "Among the changes announced Ebay raised sellers fees almost 100% which in return a portion must be transferred to the buyer which is not fair to them. Paypal and Ebay will then hold a buyers money for 21 days before the seller see & posts anything for the sale, which in return means slower shipping of the product purchased. Sellers will no longer be able to post anything but positive feedback for the buyer not even if the purchaser was running a scam and the seller is out money,"
Huh?? Where'd that come from?
Just dumb.
it's important to verify the complete 1926 watch tower quotation that follows: .
answer: certainly they have not returned.
no one has seen them, and it would be foolish to make such an announcement.
"We have no doubt whatever in regard to the chronology relating to the dates of 1874,1914, 1918, and 1925. The Lord has placed the stamp of his seal upon 1914 and 1918 beyond any possibility of erasure . . . using this same measuring line... it is an easy matter to locate 1925, probably the fall, for the beginning of the antitypical jubilee. There can be no more question about 1925 than there was about 1914."
"Thus it was in 1844, in 1874, in 1878 as well as in 1914 and 1918. Looking back we can now easily see that those dates were clearly indicated in Scripture and doubtless intended by the Lord to encourage his people, as they did, as well as to be a means of testing and sifting when all that some expected did not come to pass. That all that some expect to see in 1925 may not transpire that year will not alter the date one whir more than in the other eases." -May 15, 1922 WT

Twelve old dudes in white shirts... the last time I turned my life over to a group of guys who looked like that, it went pretty well... no, wait... I went insane.
watch, feb 1 2008 p.4 "if we really are the product of evolution and there is no creator, the human race would in a sense, be an orphan.
mankind would have no source of superior wisdom to consult- no one to help us solve our problems.
we would have to rely on human wisdom to avert enviromental disaster, to solve political conflicts, and to guide us through our personal crises.
Reminds me of Homer Simpson's campaign slogan when he was running for Sanitation Commissioner:
"Can't someone else do it?"
The really sad thing is how seriously Witnesses take this. The article basically admits that it is based on wishful thinking: 'wouldn't it suck to not have an invisible sky-daddy to make everything all better? Let's believe there is and we'll feel warm and fuzzy about it!'
But the Witnesses base their lives on that... waste their lives on that. No personal development is done, no education, no yoga, no martial arts, no sports, no socialization with others who aren't similarly indoctrinated. No physical, mental, or emotional training beyond that necessary level to keep you functioning for the Society (even INGSOC had its citizens exercise a little every day).
I've heard obese JWs make comments about how they don't really don't need to worry too much about their health because the new system is coming soon enough and Jehovah will fix them up.. as they eat another Twinkie.
my 10 year pioneering did not have much fruitage.
[good]...studied with a few naughty witness boys...some later left.
one family came into the truth and parents and kid's are now pioneers.
Nobody I studied with ever got baptized. Thank the gods I was apparently not that good of a teacher (or maybe the WT material just isn't real effective). But I have deconverted one person, so overall that's a net gain.
per wbts:"you can live forever in paradise on earth" ch 16. from 607 b.c.e.
to 1914 or "the time of the gentiles" during this time, god did not have a gov't to represent his rulership in the earth.the command to restore and rebuild the walls of jerusalem was given in 455 b.c.e.
jesus was baptized.. per wbts: wt64 p.80 in part .
Bobld, you're looking at this the wrong way.
First you need to smile. Smile wider. No, stop showing your teeth. Now take that gleam out of your eye. Yes, that's it.
Now nod your head, gently, assuredly. Good job... no, don't stop, keep nodding.
with all the talk about the increased violence in schools and among society, it still surprises me that the accessibility to guns argument often tends to trump the cultural argument.. maybe i'm out of touch but showing saw iii uncut on hbo at 10pm and releasing the most violent video games in history and the marketing of violent and perverse music, these are the things to me that desensitises young people first and then may trigger some hurt and unstable kids long before they go and buy a gun.. okay, ready to be blasted (pardon the pun)!.
.
Homerovah:But fadeout isn't the reason that you have the expressive right to bare arms the reason there are so many guns in America right now, the logic follows
that the more guns available to the public the more likelihood some will be used for a violent action, the less availability the less likelihood.
************************************************
Of course. That is why I said: "if guns were inaccessible to people, gun violence would certainly go down."
But that is a fantasy world in which guns are not available to anyone, including people who would break the law to obtain them. It's like saying (I have my analogy now) "If we simply tell our kids that sex is bad and they should never ever have it, then logically STDs will be reduced and unwanted pregnancies will stop."
It is hopeless because the reality is you cannot keep sex away from anyone who wants it. The real solution is openness and education.
Because we do not live in that make-believe world where passing laws will eliminate people's access to guns, I said: "let's not confuse accessibility with legality."
When something is cloaked in secrecy and illicitness it becomes more dangerous. "Hey, my dad keeps a gun in his room. Wanna see it?"
Wonder how many ignorant kids have died that way.
For the record I am also for legalization of drugs, on basically the same principle. I understand not everyone has this mindset... that's OK.
i sat down to watch some tv today... our tv only pick up 3 channels.. and stuff worth watching is few and far between.
it's amazing how much mindless drivel is being broadcasted.. .
deal or no deal: where an overactive lunatic runs around the stage hyperventilating, while simultaniously showing off his/her amazing random-number-generator skills by choosing completely arbitrary numbers and winning money for it.
And nobody has mentioned Jerry Springer?
I was a big Star Trek TNG fan. Futurama's cancelled, and The Simpsons was the best show ever, but that hasn't been good for years now. I want to start a poll asking when it jumped the shark... Death of Maude Flanders? Homer getting raped by a Panda?
So my TV watching consists of, uh, well, here I am not watching TV.
Documentaries, the NFL, and my basketball team, that's pretty much it.
