  i lived for the first 20 years of my life in a communist country.. .

  great .... .

  we were told we lived in the best regime, had best medical care, best election system, best goverment, no criminality like in the western countries, no unemploymence like in the western countries, not all the problems like people in the west ..... .

  the internet will soon run out of room according to fox causing "brown outs" at first with the internet slowing down drastically before it closes down!

  in his current tv show he uses the story of lot and his daughters and uses his nwt.

  German comdedian Oliver Pocher has been raised as JW as he frankly declares. In his current TV show he uses the story of Lot and his daughters and uses his NWT. He also uses some of the typical JW phrases like inviting the audience to use their own Bibles.

  Baby name suggestions?

  boy or girl names, don't know for sure which as of yet.

  preferably something with apostate or rock musician connotations.

  i thought of "stevie ray" as in stevie ray vaughan and as a tribute to both steven hassan and ray franz but it sounds a bit too redneck for my taste.

  i have been lurking for a while, just joined.

  nice to see there are so many others out there who feel/felt how i feel.... long story short - i was born into it, started having doubts about age 6, but what can you do when you have over controlling parents whose only goal is to make you a pioneer and ship you off to bethel so you can be like your goody-two-shoe brothers.

  suffered through my school years being bullied with no friends - parents made sure that i was very different from other kids inc how i dressed and even what i ate to the point where i was apparently known as the ugly hippie.

  My Father has just past away

  yes my father has passed on sunday.... all my family brothers, sister, in-laws are jws .

  it is occasions like this that.

  make me see why i and countless others are just faders .. not taking that bold step of disassociation .

  i know the wt says a sister can have an abortion if her life is endangered but what if she is raped must she give birth to the child of her rapist?.

  It is in the Reasoning-Book, but it this states that the life of the baby or the mother must be endangered in the moment of birth.

  i was born in 1964, 50 years after 1914. even in my teens i was doing the sums.

  i had a worse case scenario figured out - if the 1914 generation could apply to babies and even if they lived to be a 120, i would still only be about 70 years old after they'd all died!

  i figured i was part of the first wave of 'jehovah's people' that really would live to see the new order - guaranteed!!

  Firstly, our Service Overseer had got the WT 11/1/95 from the Branch before us because of personal connections. He hinted there was a big change but he told us to wait until there was the official delivery of the magazines. Then it was told from the platform at an assembly that there was to be a change in that magazine that we should be looking forward to. Then we got the magazines but the WT study was just as if nothing big was happening. For me, this was interesting. I had already read CoC before then.

  My Grandmother has died today

  this morning, my grandmother died at age 92. she was a jw and i never told her that i quit years ago (but i guess my father told her).

  fortunately, i had a chance to see her a last time this tuesday when i tried to see her and learnt she was in hospital.

  my father had not told me that she was in hospital.

  Thanks for your words of condolence and advice. I had not not heeded this advice to wait until I have calmed down but had called my parents back and had told them what I think of their behavior. But there are walls around them. They say we do not have a common bases and do not match. Of course, they are also in a difficult situation and I should have waited.

  I have also given up the hope that they awake. My father was inactive for some time due to issues with his fellow elders but he went back and is more convinced than before. I am afraid if he or my mother should wake up from the cult it will be too late due to age to have a serious talk.

  This morning, my grandmother died at age 92. She was a JW and I never told her that I quit years ago (but I guess my father told her). Fortunately, I had a chance to see her a last time this Tuesday when I tried to see her and learnt she was in hospital. My father had not told me that she was in hospital. He was busy auxiliary pioneering. At least, I got the call today that she died. It was an uncompassionate call just stating the fact and then stopping the call. I am sad and angry about my parents' bahavior.
