Not disfellowshipping if the person shows a 'repentant' attitude. In fact, I would be willing to bet that most elders would consider taking a blood transfusion FAR, FAR WORSE than fornication. But taking a blood transfusion would probably automatically disassociate the person from the congregation.

knowing that the "truth" is false and even laughable, it boggles my mind that you can still go, listen to the spiritual bullshit and maintain.. how do you do it?.
I would have been able to do it, to stay in and try to help others out. But I have a family, wife and son, and I think it's torture to put them through something that is false. Especially my son. He's still too young to be able to distinguish what I would have been doing, and it would be disastrous if he started becoming influenced by them. Better to stay away and find other means of helping people out, or help others who are already making their way out.

Now this actually offends me. Why in the hell would the WT recommend ignoring your health to serve the Org? Don't they know they need as many members alive and healthy so they can serve as long as possible? If you start letting them die off, there won't be any left!

Most JW's will absolutely run away from information like this as if it were directly from the Devil himself. They have been trained and drilled to avoid any critical thinking or to have any negative thoughts towards the Watchtower/GB.

Actually, if the JW's ever get the balls to do something like this, it would play out like this:
1. The GB would set up an altar of sorts and ask Babylon the Great to set up a similar altar elsewhere.
2. After asking Babylon the Great to go first, Babylon goes up, prays and does whatever, but nothing happens.
3. Afterwards the GB goes up, they give a solemn prayer, and wait for their God to burn the altar.
4. After nothing happens, the GB then declare that it did indeed happen, only invisibly.
5. All JW's then bow down to the GB and thank them for the sign that has been given to them.

this years yearbook covers "albainia" as i read these experiences i get to around 1920-25 and i notice that 3 or 4 healthy congregations turn into just 13-14 publishers by 1926 after "a time of trouble.
" although not mentioned this "trouble" was rutherford's "millions now living will never die" campaign with the watchtower saying armagedon was coming in 1925. most european congregations by 1926 lost whole congregations with only 3-10 "faithful " remaining {e.g poland, romania yearbook experiences} notice how the graph starts from the 1940's to avoid and cover up showing the flat lined publisher figures after 1925.....{notice also dips after 1975}.
however, check out the 2006 yearbook page 80. romania graph, and you see a flat lined publisher figure at 1926. the witnesses had to start from scratch.
A Witness who had gone to Ireland to be a missionary and is now rather faded told me that there was a scandal there that had nearly whole congregations walking out of the KHs and leaving the org, but he never found out exactly what it was, because the few JWs still in that area wouldn't talk about it.

But there was a man named John May who provided an account of what happened in his own area of Ireland (I'm not sure if it was Dublin, but I have a suspicion that the Yearbook was really talking about what happened with John May). Check the Freeminds website for an audio by the name of John May (or try John Joseph May). John May was a zealous JW for most of his life. Then he read about Ray Franz' disfellowshipping in the 1982 Time article and he decided to fly out to Gadsden with a close friend of his. He wanted to meet Ray and to find out what had really happened. After meeting with Ray, he then flew to New York to try to meet with Barr, who had been a very close family friend. Barr refused to meet him. He and his friend became disillusioned with the WT and when they flew back to Ireland, they expressed everything that had happened to their families. According to his account, JW's were flocking away from the congregations in small droves. The most damaging thing the GB did during this time was not meet with John May. He was able to see that the GB are nothing but men who wield power but are not from God.
I recommend everyone try to find and listen to that audio clip. If no one can find it, I still have a copy of it on my computer. Oh yeah, and if anyone has ever seen the Witnesses of Jehovah movie, I believe John May's friend appears in the movie.

according to zachariah, the lord will cause a great earthquake to split the mount of olives, and when the jews first behold their lord, they will ask about the wounds in his hands.
My question is this: Do you know of any cases where the imminant expectation of Armageddon has resulted in Witnesses prematurely cashing in their pensions or squandering their savings? After all, why save for the future if there isn't going to be one? Why not enjoy a 42-inch hi-def TV now when I know that Armageddon is coming?
I can only speak for the JW's around me (family). Yes, they squandered their savings. I have an uncle/aunt who had a home that was paid off and the uncle was doing very well financially. Right before the WT decided to change the meaning of "generation" back in '95, they sold their house and just about all their belongings. They took a trip to Mexico, and somehow blew all their money. They were reduced to living in an apartment for several years. He is now about 70 years old, forced to retire and live off of social security, and my aunt is having to work hard to keep up with the bills. They eventually bought a house again but they're nowhere near paying it off again.
The same goes for my family. No retirement money, no life insurance, nothing. Still waiting for "the end".
The GB is very responsible for the financial, psychological, and spiritual ruin they put people through. God will judge them and I am glad I am not one of them.
So if your brother is out spending his money cuz he thinks "the end is right around the corner", he's got another thing coming. Unfortunately, how do you help the ignorant if the ignorant don't help themselves? God gave us a mind so we could put it to good use.. not allow some stupid religion to govern our minds and not allow us to make decisions like grown adults.

So, Jehovah is invisibly present at all times, but because of his invisibility cannot be seen by the naked eye, being as he is also a Spirit being, dwelling in the Spirit realm. {John 4:24}
You lost me when you quoted 1 Tim 1:17 and then proceeded to state that Jehovah is present at all times because of what that text said. It didn't say he would be present everywhere. I also find it funny that that text stated it was God who was eternal, not specifically Jehovah. Isn't that text talking about Jesus? Look at the context...
