for me i think if it wasn't for the fact i'm gay, i'd still be an active witness.
this year, even my mum has said that it wouldn't be "appropriate" if i was to go to the memorial.
now the memorial is something i've never missed, so that kind of stings a bit.
If it wasn't for the judgemental attitude of the bros while I was serving imprisonment for the neutrality issue, I won't have compromised and join the army. But even after I compromised, I still thot that it is the truth.

i just got off the phone with my sister-in-law.
we don't talk regularly at all - but today the discussion turned to our beliefs.
she's da'd herself 15 years ago, but she is still filled with guilt over not being able to live up to the standards of the witnesses.
I was considered no longer one of jw when I compromised after serving 2 mths in prison and joined the army. It was hell for me in the army as my conscience was forever tormenting me for learning to kill. Lucky for me, my superiors were understanding and posted me to a non combat vocation after 3 mths of basic military training. My conscience is better but I still found myself worried abt the big A. I still believe that is the truth then.
I did not even want to go into 'apostate' sites. It was only when I completed my military service (2 yrs) and having had to deal with spiritism that I literally FORCED myself to seek advice here in Oct 07.
4 mths here has convinced me that that is not the truth. Thank you ,JWD, for liberating me. My thanks especially to gopher and darkuncle for their comfort and patience with me.

i started to put this in the great thread here on weirdos in your hall which i have so enjoyed, but there was a bit more story to it.
there a pitiful little hunchback young man of about 25 that was soooooo introverted it was really sad.

I have gone thru 2 phases since I da'ed myself due to neutrality issue :
1st phase : left them but still think that they have the truth - a "let's eat and drink for 2moro we are to die" attitude - smoke, drink, womanising. Worry abt cancer and hiv? no! before I could get cancer or AIDS, the big A would have come.
2nd phase: Stop and ponder after coming to JWD in oct 07...wt does not have the truth! big A not coming...need to think of my future...but can't stop smoking, but practise safe sex, and plan for my future.

But just an hour ago, my brother came back and told me he strike the lottery and will give me $300 tomorrow! I have leprosy? I have Aids? Or did he see demons beside me???? The reaction of this JW really puzzled me. He was here to deliver the Wt mag. So happen that I was opening the door to go out. He just throw the mag on the floor and hurried away with fear showing on his face.It puzzled me so much that I need to look into the mirror to check. Nothing wrong with me. Then I go out. This guy is around my age, a new convert I think. Wonder what they told him about XJWs and me.possessed by demons???
