what's your take on the spirit realm?

are there angels, demons, ghosts?

how do you otherwise explain those who for a fact are demonpossessed, scourged, woodoo, mediums, people who experience things moving and sounding in there homes etc.. a missonary in kenya once told me she studied with a demonpossessed woman and that the sister herself spoke with the demon and told him/her to leave and said jehovahs name.

spirits ain't afraid of jehovah. When I was a jw and my dad was a spirit medium, I cut out the hebrew words for 'YHWH' and put in under the altar that my dad used to pray to the spirits. There is no effect on them.

Now that I am a medium myself, I can communicate with them. I ever asked them whether they know jehovah. They don't know. But they know jesus. They don't object me going to churches, reading the bible or the watchtower....

They said they are the spirits of dead persons. About a year after being a medium, I don't think they are demons. But there are also bad spirits, just like humans, there are good and bad.

The priest apologizes profusely and removes his hand but is unable to remove his eyes from her leg. Further on when he changes gear and has ogled at her leg for the zillionth time he lets the hand slide up the leg again. The Nun once again says "Father remembers psalm 129".Once again the priest apologizes "Sorry sister but you know the flesh is weak." Arriving at the convent the nun gets out and the priest goes on his way. Once he arrives at his church he rushes to the bible and looks up psalm 129 it said: "GO FORTH AND SEEK, FURTHER UP YOU WILL FIND GLORY"

for me i think if it wasn't for the fact i'm gay, i'd still be an active witness.

this year, even my mum has said that it wouldn't be "appropriate" if i was to go to the memorial.

now the memorial is something i've never missed, so that kind of stings a bit.

If it wasn't for the judgemental attitude of the bros while I was serving imprisonment for the neutrality issue, I won't have compromised and join the army. But even after I compromised, I still thot that it is the truth.

i just got off the phone with my sister-in-law.

we don't talk regularly at all - but today the discussion turned to our beliefs.

she's da'd herself 15 years ago, but she is still filled with guilt over not being able to live up to the standards of the witnesses.

I was considered no longer one of jw when I compromised after serving 2 mths in prison and joined the army. It was hell for me in the army as my conscience was forever tormenting me for learning to kill. Lucky for me, my superiors were understanding and posted me to a non combat vocation after 3 mths of basic military training. My conscience is better but I still found myself worried abt the big A. I still believe that is the truth then.

I did not even want to go into 'apostate' sites. It was only when I completed my military service (2 yrs) and having had to deal with spiritism that I literally FORCED myself to seek advice here in Oct 07.

4 mths here has convinced me that that is not the truth. Thank you ,JWD, for liberating me. My thanks especially to gopher and darkuncle for their comfort and patience with me.

i started to put this in the great thread here on weirdos in your hall which i have so enjoyed, but there was a bit more story to it.

there a pitiful little hunchback young man of about 25 that was soooooo introverted it was really sad.

so he calls my house to speak to my elder dad, and i answer the phone.....unfortunately, at 15, i sounded a lot like my dad, and as soon as i said "hello" he blurts out...."brother oompa, i just wanted you to know i have gotten rid of all my pornography, and am going to really try to work in harmony with my prayers to stop masturbating.

Why on EARTH did we feel the need to tell elders this stuff?

for the simple reason that they are worshipping a man-made organisation rather than god.

I didn't tell the elders that I masturbated, smoke occassionally . Isn't it jehovah organisation? I tot the angels would have told the elders already. Maybe the angels just close one eye as I am still young then.

I have gone thru 2 phases since I da'ed myself due to neutrality issue :

1st phase : left them but still think that they have the truth - a "let's eat and drink for 2moro we are to die" attitude - smoke, drink, womanising. Worry abt cancer and hiv? no! before I could get cancer or AIDS, the big A would have come.

2nd phase: Stop and ponder after coming to JWD in oct 07...wt does not have the truth! big A not coming...need to think of my future...but can't stop smoking, but practise safe sex, and plan for my future.
