  the litter-ature over the years has teachings that imply jehovah's special people are all on the verge of having unplanned sex on a moment's notice, with anyone, at any time.. you must have a chaperone if you are to be alone with someone of the opposite sex, even briefly.. this applies to people of any ages.

  you could be a 99-year-old raisin whose flagpole hasn't risen since rutherford was living in beth sarim, but you still shouldn't be alone with a pimply 16-year-old shy obese virgin who still plays with barbie dolls.

  I hate to tell you but condoms are not a sure fire way of protecting against STD's as well as pregnancy. Without being too visual here but condoms do break (I know couples with kids despite wrapping up) and not to mention that some "things" are not protected by the umbrella, and are left out in the rain. Someone (sexually active) tell me if you would sleep with someone that has HIV, even if you used the "best" condom. I just bet the number would be slim to none, at least in my little survey that's what I've heard.

  i read your posts, and the posts of others, and posts at other sites - posts that are full of research material of the sort you will have to spend the whole night going thru and trying to remotely get a grip of.. so i wonder - just how difficult do you - or others - feel that christianity, christian faith, "salvation" is meant to be?

  if you consider a namib desert pygme, a bhutan sherpa, a yunnan farmer, an andes mine worker, an amazonian jungle dweller, an indian without caste, a big city sidewalk dweller - just how hard can it be meant for him / her to grasp the gospel and gain hope of salvation?

  what is demanded by the salt of the earth people?

  I think Leolaia has a great approach to this. Also how Chalam put it, that salvation is a very simple concept. If it was all about "knowledge", then many/most/all of us would be in BIG trouble. Faith like a child is where it's at...knowledge is good but faith and relationship is better.

  the following are questions raised by coffee_black that deserve a response:.

  opening note: often times we here how rome cherry-picked the bible to suit their doctrine, yet many people, mostly non-catholics demand that only the bible sola scriptura be used as the canon of the faith.

  there is a serious inconsistency in such a demand that both worships the bible on one hand and then condemns the church which compiled that very same book on the other hand; the very same church, and the only church which formally declared the bible is inspired 800 years after jesus christ!.

  The RCC is just another works based system using visuals as an appearance of consecrated holiness. The pope is NOT the vicar of Christ, no I will not kiss his ring, nor can he forgive my sins, I'm not looking forward to pugatory but heaven, no my prayers (or money) won't help my relatives "get out" of purgatory, no saint has ever heard my prayers and no Jesus is not too busy to need "helpers", there is no Universal church but the bride of Christ, I will not look at "holy" tradition as equal to the Bible, but YES I will get out of her as Revelation proclaims, a church that started with blood guilt (Edict of Toleration ended bad to those-especially Jews-with the wrong version/belief of the "universal church" or gospel), has no legs to stand on...like a one legged man at a butt kickin...

  my "apostate" friend recomended me to start chronological reading of nt with my still zealous wife, to help her to see wtbs and jw system does not fit to how christians in the first century were organized.

  he said to find chronologial reading schedulle is easy on the internet.

  i did try, but not succesfully.

  My schedule is to read as much as I can every day and take notes of things that stood out to me. Recently, (December) I started reading in Acts, hoping to read the entire Bible in a year...so far I've made it to 1 Samuel. I think I can get there.
