  May I bravely state, there are not many HATE sites on the internet. Or DISLIKE sites on the internet, There are not many RECOVERY sites on the internet. I think this forum and many like them exist becuase it isnt easy letting go. If being a JW was 100% hell, it would be easy to walk away middle finger high and never to consider again. I once tried Karate and hated it, not been on any karate forums talking about how transparent and useless it is.

  I truly believe we are here because it is hard. We are pained. We are like animals wounded and lost in a big wide world. some of us were kicked out, some of us were too different to stay, some of us like me left upon earth shaking realisation........ "Woah...hang on a minute...this is all bullshit!"

  We are here becuase it isnt easy to let go. We are here because we seek solace and strength from other like minded people. We are here because there are things we miss. WT shaped holes in our lives we must replace...with something. I feel anger at what they took, sadness at what I left behind. I think anyone that says there is no good in the organisation does themself harm, you are declaring yourself not good, as you were once part of it.

  I truly believe we all have pro JW feelings. Thats why it pains us so much that it isnt true.

  Mill Hill Disfellowshippings and JW prayers

  the following comment was posted in the "mill hill disfellowshipping" thread:.

  all 4 were disfellowshipped for believing that the entirety of the ransom, including the new covenant, and the mediatorship and everything else in the bible, applied to everyone.. if that is the case, why do all of the jw prayers, public and private, end with "we pray this through your son, jesus christ, amen"?.

  ending prayers like this implies that the payer is going through jesus, hence jesus is the mediator for all prayers made by jws!.

  Jesus is seen as head of every congregation. Any appointments and decisions are said to be by him and through him. Remember people, they believe since 1918 HE has ruled the kingdom. They never quite explain this well enough, but until the end of the thousand year reign, Jesus isin charge.

  Interestingly, Jesus told people to pray "your will to be done, on earth AS IN HEAVEN." This wasnt fulfilled until 1918 according to WT teaching, as the Heavens were unclean until this time. That means according to their beliefs, the prayer was invalid for nearly 2000 yrs. This makes no sense. Also the people Jesus was instructing would have clearly seen it as a prayer for them, not for a future people.

  But yes Podobear, you are right, Jesus was held in high esteem as head of the cong, mediator for all and saviour as ransom for mankind. He always gave God praise for his words and actions. The WT have certainly got themselves in a muddle over their beliefs. They make sense only if you question nothing and accept everything, ironically thats one of their rules LOL.

  Hi,

  Not sure what to says so I guess "Help" is as good as any. I realised today the WT sized hole in my life. I was never DF'd or DS's. My moral compass led me in a different direction about 3/4 yrs ago. I made serious stands quite recently to family about never returning and why. (Rand cam, UN scandal, NWT being so poor etc..). But today has been a tough day. A genuinly sad day, I am suffering at the expense on someone else's wrong doing. An organisations misguidance and untruths. I have lost so much, so many friends that still excuse and stand firm with the Brooklyn Book Publishing inc. People I had and STILL want in my life. They are ghosts now. Something I accept as do they.

  I study Medicine and I am proud of it. But today I switched Medicine off, first time in a while. I was sad to see there was nothing else left. Just me, a reasonably good human being, in a big busy world. I'm not old, but Im not young. Girls my age have led a very different life and I feel so very different to them. My friends at uni will never understand what I have done, overcome and left behind.

  I don't know what else to say really. I think my original attempt was nearest to what I am feeling. "Help."

  February 2010 Study Watchtower - Millions Now Living 'May' Never Die

  just noticed that in the february 2010 study edition of the watchtower, they refer to the "millions now living will never die" talk in 1918, but they have changed the title to "millions now living may never die".

  only problem, they included the picture of the invitation to the talk, which says 'will'.. ooops.

  Not sure if its connected, but there is a delay with the printing of the uk study article. The other mags arrived without it. People are talking about this . Tell all your JW friends n family becuase this takes some explaining, it leaves a sour taste mainly due to its obvious FALSE prophetic vision, million then living are now dead....... They are going to drop like flys this decade. There is a prophecy i will stand by.

  i thought this deserved it's own thread since some say the society never said stated that "millions now living will never die.".

  i inherited a book that was published in 1917 entitled "what pastor russell said his answer to hundreds of questions".

  inside the book on the first page is a red seal with the words "millions now living will never die".

  NEW LIGHT in the Darkness of Space !

  i was staying with relatives for the holidays this weekend.

  i chose to walk away after years of 'worship' including pioneering and being a bethelite.

  (see old post) anyway i was reading the societies website where i stumbled on new light that no one else has picked up on or read.

  All good points, it stands out to me as my new path of enlightenment is a science degree in higher education, I agree that they cannot for long remain so embarassingly opposed to scientific FACT. I was expecting a sly quiet move like this, though it was still unpleasent to see it.

  I cannot believe they still deny evoloution despite seperating themselves from creationists and NOW finally agreeing with Darwins first speculation that the earth is millions of years old.

  Of course, far more ridiculous than this, is the denial of evoloution, yet its function being assumed to bring about the 6 million species of animal we now have, from the considerably fewer 'kinds' of animal that entered Noahs dinghy.

  I asked all the JW's around me this weekend, they all answered between 4000-1000 yrs as the age of the earth (few million out on the societies UNITED stance). Also when i asked do we take the whole bible literally... they all said yeah. Shame.

  PS im training to be a physician in medical school, the need to save real lives I am determined to fulfill.

I dont use this forum, or anything like it, but sure this hasnt been picked up on...

  2 things, the first being very significant in my opinion. Ask a JW how old the earth is, how old the created universe is and whether we are creationists ..... I think they would be suprised to read the socirties new lines on this topic.....

  Thank you. I apprciate your frank comments. I am a scientist in terms of my career. I deal with facts, thats what I mean by bias.

  My concern is "where else is there to go ?"

  Dont worry that doesnt mean I wont leave or that its more important than the wrong they are doing. However... who else id preaching ? Who else says no to war ( i know about rand cam). Who else distributes free (ok for tax reaons) literature ? 99% of Jw's are good people.

  In babylon 1% were doing it right. In Jesus's day most were not doing it right. In pauls day the anointed were commiting hurrendous sins.

  Where does it leave us ?

  Id appreciate yr time and coment :)

  How many people here recognize the JW's as the best organization of christlike people the world has to offer. BUT that the organization, a self admitted manly organization, self admited uninspired and self admitted imperfect organization, has gon awry ?

  I am here with that prediciment. I grew up in the 80's as a JW. Grew up pretty much as a JW. But I have seen things, read things that I just dont agree with. I believe the society is becoming a well managed business like structure. I see hieracrchy and no rom for questioning or debate.

  I wonder how many agree with me ? Because, if there is enough if us with the same feeling, with scripture to back us, I truly believe we can effect change. I have no interest in authority, just spiritual nourishment and unhypocritical , unblemished association with a people.

  I feel we have been tarnished with such decsisions as child abuse cover ups, arms dealer stock holdings, UN association, I decided to stop researching at that point. i am not interested in any information bias against the society. I am not interested in any information bias from the society.

  I pioneered. I served at bethel. My family are all well founded members. I know I could shake the area with the information I have. Its time for change. I just wonder... how many people here have the same genuine despair and motivations?
