My first English Essay for college, I wrote about my experience as a JW.

i am already tired since i work full time in addition to going to school full time, but i will get over that hump eventually.
anyway in my english 101 class our first essay due was to be a personal narrative, 4 pages(ish), in mla format using microsoft word.

"i've got a funny feeling about this place! think it might be demon posscessed!"
by highdose indid you ever encounter jw's who claimed to be able to "sense" when somthing "dodgy" read demon posscessed was in the room?.
i've got several jw relatives who reckon that jehovah protects them by allowing them to sense this... "i always had a funny feeling about that lump of coral!".
iteams they have thrown out ( and in one case also run over several times with a bicycle just in case there was any residual demons left in it) are :.

i gave a "good witness " yesterday !
by looloo ina workmate was telling me she had a friend who became a jw years ago and one day the jws hubby was doing some work at my workmates house when jws started preaching she thought it funny that despite being a jw himself he was actually hiding from the jws !
i told her that an awfull lot of jws are a little embaressed about their beliefs and dont even enjoy actually knocking on doors and you will find they usually walk very slow and i explained the reasons for this (handing in a slip of paper recording the amount of hours ) and then i went on to explain about shunning , the crap child protection policies , victims of domestic violence told to pray to be a better wife etc.., satan and demons on the internet telling lies !
she told me that because her jw mate is so down to earth and gets drunk etc she had thought being a jw must be ok really !

i also did explain that a lot of jws are nice people but simply following orders from "the top" so i actually feel sorry for them for wasting their lives !

So why
by bushido8000 init has become very apparent to me very quickly that this forum is dominated by ex-jws.
i have many questions and topics to present but i first want to know who i am presenting these questions and topics to so i have 2 questions that i would like as many of yall to answer as possible.. .
question 1: did you leave the organization out of the blue or were you first disfellowshipped?.

i studied for a few years but eventually saw it for what it was , full of imperfect humans like all religions are except they claim to be different , and because of them not reporting a known child molester to the police years earlier and i was not warned my daughter was raped age 13 but i did nt find out for a few more years and when i thought that religion was all in the past i had a court case to deal with involving the lot of them who i thought i had seen the last of , they included other jw victims that had not come forward untill my "worldly" daughter came out with her allegations and i found out at court the elders knew he had done it but he was only reprooved leaving him free to rape more girls including mine ! so that put me of them for life but i get called an apostate by my childs rapist ! and his family think im much worse than him for being against their religion ! go figure ! they are very odd ! hope you find out the truth , best wishes .

My trouble
by bushido8000 ini have been facing a small dilemma for some years now.
i have been in the truth since i was 5 years old.
after experiencing some troubles with man-made rules (non-scriptural, told me that i absolutely could not join my small school's football team) in the kingdom hall when i was about 16, i stopped going to take a step back and look at what was going on.

my husband also had that problem as a lad as he loved football and was very good at it but was not allowed in a team , his eldest sister was alsovery good at running and could have gone far with that and a teacher even begged her mum to let her do so to no avail , my husband eventually got disfellowshipped and so did his sister (they had both been "strong in the truth " ) and the not being allowed to pursue their sporting interests as teens still to this day makes them cross ! despite having lots of other reasons to be annoyed with the relgion (including child abuse cover ups that meant my daughter was abused !) and his family dont bother with our innocent little child , however his young sister who was excellent at tennis and very clever ended up cleaning part time and getting married at 18 ! she is still in the religion but shes only 20 so maybe one day she will look back on her life and see what she could have been and regret it all . you sound just like how i used to feel by the way , i suggest you do lots of independent reasearch on the jehovahs witnesses as i did , i am nowadays actually more spiritual than i was as a jw study who did it out of fear and pleasing people . i wish you well with your search and please check out a lady on here called headinaspin who came on here about a year ago who didnt want her beleifs changing either ! x

my heart goes out to you , but dont loose heart , i was once a study that fell for a pioneer doing wonderfully well in the truth (i was also unhappily married !) we fell in love and he ended up getting disfellowshipped . we spent a year together but guilt and depression and fear of armageddon took me back there and i had a similar conversation with my pioneer and he returned also and sat at the back , i remember being told off for checking if he had arrived ! he eventually gave up on me and joined the "world " and made new friends i was heartbroken and eventually left "the truth" after i realised how cult like it was . to cut a very long story short we got married in 2004 and have a little girl and have left the town we used to live in , his family dont visit and it all seems like a bad dream now , we have new normal friends who dont hold us to ransom with "do this or you will never see us again !" plese see your life now as a tempory situation and whether you end up with that girl or another worldy girl you can have a normal life one day i promise , all the best x

after 14 years out i think ive finally found "the truth" reincarnation !
by looloo ini have read many books on reincarnation recently and no longer fear death , or the death of loved ones anymore , there are so many childrens stories of past lifes , children who have no knowledge of reincarnation etc that have come out with things like "mummy you were not my mummy last time i lived were you ?
" a 3 year old child coming out with such a thing is amazing and the reason i started looking into it was because my own 7 year old casually told me that" we have all been here before mummy but we just forget " i asked who told her that and she replied "nobody told me mummy i just know " it all makes sense now and is much more fair than jws "truth " any one else here looked into reincarnation ?.

it is true that even christianity origanally believed in reincarnation untill it was eventually classed as herrasy to believe it ! apparently it is the oldest belief system and according to the books ive read heaven is home and we come back to home after each lifetime which we choose to do . life on the other side by sylvia browne is a great read .

What Turns The Average "Worldly" Person Away From The Witnesses?
by minimus inis it their door-to-door incessant preaching?
is it their view on blood?
is it that the religion itself is simply often misunderstood?.

blood issue is a big reason for many i know !
