by chasson inan ex-jw has killed herself in the parking lot of a kingdown hall.

michael porter was not a jw while he was abusing children apparently!
by looloo insomeone i know whos mum is a jw said that her mum told her that alot of jws had written to bethel to ask why porter had not been disfellowshipped by the org and apparently they have been told that he was not a jw when he actually abused the children and that when he was asked to be an elder he was asked if there was anything he would like to confess to which is when it all came out , the org have also said that it was all a long time ago so thats why they did nothing !
well the man that abused my child had abused other children "a long time ago" but it did not stop him doing it again .
does anyone on here know if it is true that the org are telling members that he was not a jw at the time he abused children because i believe he has been one all his life?

yes thats what i thought too. me thinks that bethel telling porky pies !!!!! do you reckon jws actually fall for it though , surley not . i would love to talk to tina hughes , his sister .

i'm going to tell my story below, sorry in advance for how long it is, but i've really gotta get a grip on who i am now and what i need to do.
since before my baptism and for four years, my children and i attended every meeting.

you will meet new friends and some of your old ones from"the world" i did , i went through a real low but am now free and fairly happy considering the shit we have been through with the court case . a jw recently said to me that she is glad i called the police on the guy that had abused her daughter and mine amongst others bcause no jw would ever have dared to report it bcause of the trouble it would cause in the cong !

i know just how you feel, i am married to a disfellowshipped guy and his mum did not come to our wedding even though she kept telling us to get married , our 6 month old baby went ! , she is now 4 years old and has not been to grandmas for 6 months ! and grandma has only come to see her once at our home in 18 months ! you may be thinking this is a long distance grandma but no she lives only a 15 minute walk away from us and often i have seen her walk past our home when she is on the ministery , i have made it quite clear that she is welcome at our home anytime and am still hoping for an invite to her home soon but it is so upsetting , how am i going to explain this to my child when she sees her other gran once or twice a week and she dos not live so near , my child also has an uncle and auntie that do not come to see her either , what a false impression i got of people in the truth and thier "happy familys" i have never met such disfunctional familys in all my life ! she has given my child presents though but i would prefer her presence.

well in my exerience some jws who are related to the paedophile hate me more than him , i get called an apostate and liar , because i reported him to the police , i do not understand this at all , they know what he is , they make our pain worse , why cant they say im so sorry that happned to your child and make it easier to move on ,

Is it official policy that elders MUST advise the parent to report abuse?
by Must obey! innotwithstanding the plain fact that the watchtower's heinous "two witness" rule is obviously flawed (scripturally and in terms of natural justice), it seems to me that as long as the elders are advising the parent/caregiver to go to the authorities in every case where an accusation of child abuse has occurred that this is sufficient for the elders to discharge their legal duty, shouldn't it?.
i have heard rumours that this is in fact the official current policy (since when i don't know) of the society: that they tell the elders to advise the parent/caregiver to inform the authorities of alleged child abuse.
but how firm is this policy?
