  There's lots of recent articles on his website. Every few days there's something new. Can't post scandalous inside 'leaks ' all the time.

  I'm surprised there is no article discussing the latest world wide report though.

  well after a few years of lots thinking, questioning everything, and deconstructing of jw logic, i keep coming up against some problems.

  though i probably consider myself an agnostic nowadays, one of the conclusions i keep coming back to is, if there is a god, looking at the way nature is structured, for example the predator-prey system that is indispensible to the survival of organisms, he is unlikely to be the same loving guy that's described in the bible (could he not have come up with a more compassionate system of survival in his limitless intelligence).

  then again sometimes the actions described in the bible make him look like the description in the title of this thread... jw's definitely didn't help much with their logic.

  And thus the undeniable conclusion is that the ancient desert dwelling God invented in the scary stories of ancient Jewish priestcraft...is simply a fiction, an ancient pious literary fraud to induce submission and obedience of ignorant, unscientific, illiterate Hebrew tribes of an age long gone..and to keep those tasty meat sacrifices coming in to a non-working clergy class.

  No different today. Scary stories of amoral, vengeful deities will always have mass scare appeal for the superstitious and weak-minded...and keep the donations rolling in.

  some scattered thoughts about the granting or denial of privileges of service as a control mechanism:.

  this method of persuasion involving reward or punishment is so deeply ingrained in watchtower function, it is second nature.

  although sometimes subtle, sometimes blatant, everyone from new bible study to traveling overseer is subconsciously aware of the possible limiting of his official opportunities to serve god and his brothers.. .

  every drop of breast milk has roughly 1 million white blood cells in it.

  so the next time you see a jw drink milk or eating milk with his cereal etc.

  you must run over and take it out of his/her hands and then give them a stern warning.

  i think that i became a jehovahs witness because of my immaturity.

  i had some quirky personality traits, and i joined finding that i fit in because, as i said to myself: these people get me.

  Superb. I see the JW in so many ex-JWs, both on this forum and amongst friend's and family. I see it in myself sometimes. From preaching new age beliefs to atheism, the JW evangelist impulse can be hard to extinguish. It's a form of arrogance really.

  i'm in a crazy situation.

  about a year ago, i was going to get baptized.

  it was all planned and arranged until ttatt was learned.

  Whatever you do, DON'T get baptized because if you do and then end up getting disfellowshipped (likely if you know TTATT), your father may shun you forevern if he is the type to tow the Watchtower party line.

  By not getting baptized you increase the chances of retaining some sort of relationship with your father in the long term despite his current belligerent attitude.

  the christian bible / cannon is different , depending on what religion you profess ,around the world.. russian orthodox ,greek orthodox ,christian gnostics ,roman catholics , polish national catholics ,c.of e , etc,etc,.

  the very many christian bible translations that exist today differ according to different interpretations of the translators.. the jewish translators of the hebrew scriptures add a whole new concept to the traditional interpretation by christian translators of the old testament... throw in the mix all of the fundamentalist religions that have sprung up these past couple of centuries including the j.w.`s , s.d.a.`s , mormons , t.v.

  evangelists , etc, etc,.

  Religious superstition will indeed be a thing of the past one day..maybe 5,000 years from now....but there will always be a sense of wonderment about the mysterious. Without that we would not be human.

  Why I like the Mormons and why they are so much nicer then the JWs.

  as a witness we all thought they were weird.

  but the two faiths are a lot alike, except the mormons are really so much nicer than the jws!.

  The Mormons are more family oriented, and their teaching of mostly universal reconciliation and its supporting theodicy is appealing in terms of providing an answer to the Problem of Evil.
