  i just heard of this and tried it on my doors.

  Very interesting story, thanks for posting this.You know, the locksmith in this video made a very pertinent comment.He said something to the effect of : "The bad guys are going to find out what to do, so why not inform the public ? " Since it concerns safety this immediately made think of the Society wanting to keep information from the congregation regarding a child molester in their midst.They seem to oddly enough think that they're "protecting" people by not informing the cong., that they don't "need" to know, or that it would cause "divisons", "panic", a damaged reputation or "slander".Really though, they just want to protect their butts and don't want to do anything about it.Sooner or later though their's always someone who feels the public needs to know and spills the beans.It always makes you think:"Why didn't we hear about this earlier ?" Just thought it was an interesting connection...

  before this talk was given the chairman said the audience could make audio recordings for their personal use but specifically requested that they not make additional copies.

  Anyone got their meeting cancelled for snow or ice?

  with the big snowstorm this past weekend, did anyone get their boasting session cancelled?

  or, were they foolhardy and so stupid that, even though there was 4 feet of snow and/or the power lines were down, they decided to hold the damn thing anyway?.

  I was living in Pullman, WA when Mt. St. Helens blew. We got 8 tons of ash/acre. The state closed the roads to non-essential travel. Apparently the elders called HQ and were told that under the circumstances it was OK to cancel meetings. But I think we were all told to go over the material at home.

  The morons actually had to ask for "permission" to cancel the meeting in the face of disaster ? Why am I not surprised ! It's a wonder some of them don't raise their hands during the meeting to get the OK to take a piss !

  You can bet your ass I'm boycotting the Olympics ! They never should have had it there to begin with ! As for, "Strays threaten to take over Beijing", there are humane ways to handle such issues but China sure doesn't use them !

  Latest Watchtower Magazine Increases Odds of Surviving Armageddon!

  99% of all jw's believe and are taught that to survive armageddon that you must be a jw or as a minimum be.

  however the april 1 "public" issue of the watchtower has some interesting wording.

  I also see it as doublespeak.The average JW will most certainly read between the lines as to what it 'really' means, that those who were Witnesses or repeatedly called on, or studied, or had some contact "with the truth",etc. will be viewed as "incorrigible" or beyond reform.I personally don't think anything has changed here.Perhaps some guy in the writing department had a tinge of conscience just slipped the word in and nobody caught it.

  However,one thing adding the word"incorrigible" does accomplish is a sense of passage of time.Because sufficient time has to pass in order to determine if someone is "incorrigibly wicked". This then extends the idea that this 'system of things' could go on a LOT longer than expected and hence some time (read decades) would ultimately be needed in order to determine whether or not someone is "incorrigibly wicked".This would tie in with the generation change as well.

  I also want to echo what others have mentioned and it's this line right here: .."Lovers of Jehovah need have no fear"...

  It's quite common , especially for older ones, to speak of a "worldy" person as "they don't love Jehovah".In fact, I have even heard of some Witness children using the term.It's always used in the sense of them having a questionable (unlikely) outcome at the end of the system of things.I have no doubt that the Society is scrambling though, trying to figure out how they can stop so many from leaving while attracting new members.

  It should also be noted that a person who is disfellowshipped is viewed as WICKED.The determination always is "weak or wicked" ? The wicked are disfellowshipped.Once again, this helps us to see how they view things.

  2 Special Pioneers 1 Missionary sick with Chronic fatigue- Quit Ministry!

  2 special pioneers i knew were at the assembly last year i wanted to know how they were since they have special pioneered for 20 years.

  both got sick and have chronic fatigue.

  they quit pioneering to rest and get better.

  I have no doubt whatsoever that CFS and Fibromyalgia ARE quite real.I have two friends that each respectively suffer from these afflictions.Unfortunately, the plight of genuine sufferers is often buried by the self-diagnosed hypochondriacs who feel compelled to take away attention from those in genuine need.It's funny that hardly anyone in the congregation had any such symptoms but as soon as the Awake ! article came out they declared , "I have it too ! ".

  The fact that a specific "test" has not been developed to provide an absolute diagnosis, along with the numerous symptoms that are characteristic of the disease, has given some the opportunity to find an excuse not to Pioneer, Reach out, Be at meetings, etc.It's almost like the Welfare System, those in genuine need of public assistance are lumped in with the lazy and disingenuous and as a result are sadly given little respect or much sympathy.What's often overlooked is that those with CFS would love to be physically active and do the things they enjoy, in fact, they often overdo it when they are feeling well and wind up paying for it later.Certainly those suffering from this affliction are worthy of our compassion and whatever understanding we can muster, not adding to their burden.Sadly, the Organization has laid a heavy load upon people, making them desperate for a way out, even if that means grasping at straws in an effort to be excused from "theocratic activity".

  My mother told me today that the end is so close

  she has been a faithful jw for over 50 years.

  she was taught that the end was coming in the late 50's.. today she said that the terrible conditions in the world today prove that the end is near.

  i told her that i. think that conditions in the world were a lot worse during ww1 and ww2 and it looks like things.

  Sadly,as we know that's the standard JW response..."just a little bit closer".Well, just tell the next person who says such a thing that you're building a stairway to the heavens and when they tell you you'll never get there just say: "Well, each step is a step closer, isn't it ? " A step closer to nothing, is still a step closer to nothing.

  Boy don't ya just love it ! One minute they're a hateful person screaming you'll be dead and when they think you're a "brother" they're oh so "sweet" serving 'shoulder to shoulder' ! Disgusting. Then they go into their hypocritical little explanation about why it's okay for them to completely ignore the "faithful and discreet slaves" direction about the internet because their own "conscience" is okay with it ! Gosh darn hypocrites !
