Your All Time Favorite Song- If You Had to Pick Just One ?

so if someone told you to pick one song that was your all-time favorite, what would you pick ?
i'd have to say for me it has not changed since the 1971 hit by led zeppelin, " stairway to heaven ".

Of fans, caca, and faithful old Grandma's
by sooner7nc inon monday morning, i'm going to receive a visit.
the visitors will be my sweet mother, who's ok with my views and agrees with many of them, and my grandmother, a faithful, hardcore j-dub.
i haven't been to a meeting in about 4 months.

Just keep it lighthearted, nothing doctrinal. If they must bring up the jw thing, just tell them you are trying. Anything more than that and granny might just think she's doing you a favor and arrange for a visit from YOU KNOW WHO! lol Take care

Troubling past few weeks...
by bluesbreaker59 ini've been df'd since march of 2007, haven't been to a kingdom hall since memorial, and haven't been to a regular meeting since about nov. 2006. .
my dad's whole side of the family cut me off, my one aunt and my grandma did completely.
my other aunt and my dad are having a harder time with it.

I, too have been df'd over the years, but was re-instated each time and have been fading ever since. After I was re-instated the last time, my younger son got df'd and divorced. I was never a servant, so unlike your father, I didn't fear reprisals for associating with him. However! having been in HIS shoes, I vowed that I WOULD NEVER TREAT ANY OF MY FAMILY AS THOUGH THEY DIDN"T EXIST! You see, I was and still am quite a rebel. A compassionate, caring, loving REBEL! Love your father with all your heart, you only get ONE in your life. By his talking to you, he is putting himself in jeopardy, that show's love on his part. Sometimes natural love has a tendency to over ride ANY organization's rules of conduct. Pursue your fathers advances toward you, don't step back from them. Nurture what he gives you, then at the opportune time fill him in on what REALLy goes on in the gb. Read the book, Crisis of Conscience.

Might make the announcement
by 5thGeneration inmay make the dreaded announcement to my super righteous, super loyal parents next week that i'm not going anymore.. problem is, as you all know, they "really" believe that it's tantamount to my killing their grandchildren.
.
pretty tough decision because i think they kind of get the vibe already!

The beatings will continue........Emotional ones that is. Chin up, after all , it is YOUR life. Most importantly, you will be saving your own children the grief that most of us knew in our formative years. Abuse from our peers, teachers, neighbors, work ,etc.
Be strong and resilient in your resolve!

OMG! I want a wind mill so badly! We collect Delph, and have many wind mills etc. You kind of get carried away when you collect STUFF, ya know? And, yes, we also have plenty of natural ice out here, I slipped and almost fell on it this morning. Sun is shining though in michigan.

Majestic, yep, a long time. Some 36 years, seems like only yesterday though. I really enjoy the Britts. Time does go by dosn't it? Any ways, time is getting past me here. I gotta leave for work, catch ya all later friends.

Good Morning to you Ian! It's 27 f here in Michigan. Mild weather for us. Still have a foot of snow on the ground from last weekend. I'm usually up around 6 am out time. I'm getting ready for work and leave here a5round 8 or so. I enjoy your posts, and in time I will be posting more in depth thoughts on my life as a jw. Currently however, family prohibits me from revealing to much more. My life as a jw has been a roller coaster much like many other here. Take care. Have a good day all. Malawi and Mexico are what have set me off so far. And , yes, I will be reading the book for a bit, and then have to put it down to let everything I have read sink in. Most of the time I can read a work of fiction in one or two sittings.Not so with this. It is some very deep stuff to take in all at once. i find it amazing that there were many on the gb that had ideas similar to ray, however, because they didn't want to rock the boat, they just went along with the HIGHER minded ones.
I was told last year that an old friend of mine is now the secretary of the wts. He was always such a sweet man, I don't know how he must feel about all the crap that has gone on during his career. He was a gillead grad, missionary to the Phillipines, co and many years at bethel. I have been tempted to send him an annonymous letter recalling to him his sweetness and kindness and then appealing to his own conscience about the reallity of his position in life. It would occur to me that knowing his demeanor that certainly he would not be a rubber stamp to everything that goes past the gb. However, like Ray, I am sure there are many on the gb that continue to just follow like little lemmings to the song and dance that continues to play.

Hypocrates! Double standards! It's ok to bribe public officials! Sallying back and forth over matters of conscience! Deals made behind our backs! All of this I have learned and I am only 140 pages into it. Friends if ever you needed to read something in your lives, THIS IS IT!!! I need to ear mark many of these pages as no doubt the time will come when I know that I will need a solid defense for the course my life has taken. There are letters from the wtbs to branches all over the world, solid documented commentarys by the GB on matters that affect the very lives of ALL jws. Thousands of lives of jws have been horrificly impacted by the duplicitous acts of the GB. WAKE UP!!!! You may be next!
