There were 4 of us siblings, all raised in the truthby our mother. Our father never came to the point of baptizm, saw all the hypocracy. I have a younger brother, he's 52, that never became a jw.He was married twice and divocred twice and has been living with same woman now for many years. He also wouldn't come around the rest of the family, for one main reason. HE HATES THE TRUTH!!! Absolutely detests it. He got a whole lot smarter than I did sooner. He hated our mother until the day she died because as a youth he was forced to attend the meetings etc. According to him she ruined his youth, I can understand that. IT'S NOT EASY BEING RIDICULED ALL YOUR YOUNG LIFE FOR BELIEFS FORCED UPON YOU AS A CHILD. Anyways, we went to the funeral of my nephew last year, he was dedicated but fell away a number of years ago. 34 years old. Shame. So, during the funeral talk, held at the funeral home, my kid brother starts commenting, OUT LOUD ,mind you at varying intervals. BS, f this f that plus many other fine adjectives. My wife and I were sitting next to him the whole time and I almost broke out laughing it was so hilarious. Disrespective mind you, but funny. I would have loved to have supported him openly in front of my family. There is alot of pent up anger in many jws and and former jws and they just don't know how to express it to active family members.

For awhile there I didn't think men or newbies amounted to much. I can't remember the last time anyone in the cong made an expression as kind as yours.I'm getting a warm fuzzy feeling here.

Watchtower's annual Christmas edition - such hypocrisy!
by ozziepost inisn't it amazing to see that the wts are fond of decrying christmas, yet each year they publish a christmas edition of the watchtower magazine!.
they make all sorts of claims about christmas and how wrong it is and all that but never fail to bring feature articles in thir december issues that take advantage of that.. what hypocrites!.

MERRY CHRISTMAS! So here you are at the local mall, bakery, what-not-store etc. The proprietor or a fellow customer says to you" MERRY CHRISTMAS". You are supposed to come out with company's canned response, "GEE, I'm sorry, but I, we , they, don't celebrate Christmas. " GEE Brother, you made such a fine witnesss. So, why say that you are SORRY! Like so many others in the borg, they have an inward secret disire to have the biggest, bestest tree, yard, Santa, you name it. Correct me if I misspoke myself. HO! HO! HO!

Donations for literature I would spend at Mc Donald's!!! Sorry!!!
by Witness 007 inin my last 2 years in field service in australia tax laws meant we could no longer offer publications for money or directly ask for a donation.
if the householder asks, we would explain our voluntry work was paid for by donations.
i was suprised how many people would give you $10 or $20 dollars thinking it's going to some good cause....however, i would go and buy some lunch at mc donald's.

The donations crap really started getting to me when the society changed from us paying for the literature up front, then presenting it to householders for a donation to our work. Then came the worldwide work box, then the building fund, on top of the contributions to the local upkeep of the hall. After we quit paying up front for the mags, I quit asking for the money from householders. I figured if the wts didn't put a dollar figure value on them, well then neither did I.

When DA'd of DF'd ones give advice to DA...
by changeling inespecially if they are the militant, bitter type...are they wanting you to undergo the hardships they've been through?.
are they secretly jealous of those who have faded and have kept their family together?.
does misery want company?.

It's kind of like a polaroid picture. After time when you look at it you realize that it is fading. There's nothing you can do to restore it or bring it nack to its full color. So, eventually you just just throw it away. Out of sight, out of mind. That's how I wish to be.

In most states, grandmother's have no legal say or rights.

Well, now THAT was exciting! :o)
by onacruse inwe're in the middle of a little windstorm here (portland, or).
not much of one, really, compared to some of the others i've experienced here.. about 11 p.m. bikerchic and i heard something hit the house, and there was a pretty good thud on the ground.
i thought that it was probably just a big branch, but bikerchic came running in and said: "did you hear that?

We've been getting the same sort of weather here in MICH, only problem I have had is it's blowing my lighted flying raindeer over. Also, my lighted snowman family. Rattling my Christmas lights strung from the roof. Sorry for your disaster though. Your home is still intact, that's a plus. Take care
