  even the pre-teens have captured the essence of that facial contortion!

  walking past a counter in the local grocery store, i hailed to cashier ( small town ) ... there was a kid at the counter, with a toque and winter coat..... he turned to look at me and recognized me from the hall..... "hey..... you havent been to meetings lately?" ..... ya think??? try 3 years little borg..... i havent been there since before you grew body hair........

  as was said in another post, no inquiry as to how i or my family fares, just pointing out the obvious shortcomings of a fader.... in public!!!

  reminds me of my dear old maternal unit's sweet voice saying>>>> wipe that smirk off your face before i come over there and do it for you

  firstly, whatever treatments you decide to pursue, i hope that they benefit you greatly!!

  just so you know >> homeopathy can be an alternative route to investigate rather than pharmaceuticals, ...... a trained homeopathic consultant can determine which of the over two dozen remedies indicated for psoriasis most closely reflect your particular manifestation of the malady

  my jw friend and i had a conversation.. it seems she received an anonymous letter from an "apostate" person.

  explaining why they left the wts.. of course, this person must have left the jws to pursue a deviate lifestyle.

  since there weren't a bunch of sited bible verses to substantiate her claims, my jw friend is trying to dismiss it all as a sour person who thinks they missed having a childhood, due to over-zealous jw parents who were supposedly "too strict".. she comented that had this person given good biblical reasons as to why she left, and supported those reasons biblically--then she might be more inclined to take the letter seriously.. now, i know this is a bunch of bs.

  i really like bumper sticker wisdom...... one such oft quoted example for me is>> people will NOT let facts get in the way of what they choose to believe.....

  in fact t-shirts can be fonts of wisdom too... my older daughter has one that says>> i can see your lips are moving, but all i hear is blah blah blah.....

  add those two together and i believe it can be fairly certain that a devotee of the WTS will never see anyone's abandonment of the borg as anything other than a failure on their part.....

  a different congregationthrough all my years as a witness, the times past were not always good.. too many mistakes were being made, brothers not doing what they should.as i look back now, there are times, i can recall,when i didn't look forward to going to the kingdom hall.

  the brothers showed no love.

  they didn't seem to care.the elders were unyielding, demanding and unfair.meetings were dull and boring.

  so my dear friends, how are you all doing ?

  it's well known that the holidays seem to bring out more than the usual stress in people.

  we see various manifestations of it even in the news.

  i am on a state of suspension here..... limping along on two opinions as it were

  i know that my association with the borg has ended .... i linger at the distal margin by the barest of association with individuals who are endeared to me

  i need to sift thru the debris to reconstruct a meaningful and satisfying concept of a faith system that will grant me the grace and inspiration to maneuver the vagaries of life spiritually intact.....

  i do not have any desire to plunge into the "season"..... but have already told my kids, without too much other info, that i dont care if they chose to engage in any or all activities that define the holiday.....

  i am not depressed per se..... just kinda numb..... it is a lot to absorb, and i still have to determine how best to reveal this seperation to my family..... only my immediate family were in the borg and ALL are disenchanted and faded, if not downright hostile, so what delays me is the necessity to take responsibility for my part in advancing their intrusion into their lives...... ugh

  My cousin died yesterday.

  he was 43, just a few months older than me.

  his kidneys failed him when he was just 15 and he'd been on dialysis ever since.

  a couple of transplants had failed in the early years and his body deteriorated after that.

  as we are dealing with a community loss, 28 YO young man, died suddenly wednesday, during a camping trip (asthma)...... i sincerely extend sincere empathy and condolences to you and your family for this loss
