Is Your Adulthood Authentic?
by prophecor ini've been training with some uniquely gifted folks at my place of employment.
life has done some seemingly impressive things with them.
one who's spent numerous years in the marine corps is an excellent asset to the company as are others who've likewise spent time in the military.

I think a better question is are you your authentic self?
yes!! excellent point!
this is what was hanging me up about the premise of the thread...... i feel authentic, absolutely..... but not always "adult"
i have come to fully invest in the notion that there is( at the very least) an inherent dichotomy in all authentic people can that allow for the adult persona of responsiblity and maturity AND the child-like ( not childish!) feelings and expressions of unmitigated delight........recognized and validated as two ( of many?) facets that humans are capable of expressing
i deal with the realities of SA'd children and i clap my hands and laugh with sheer joy when i see a shooting star..... i believe i am authentic

So good it will make your brains fall out...
by Gregor inget a tub of fresh chicken livers.
rinse, dry with a paper towel and dredge them in a beaten egg and roll them in bread crumbs mixed with some garlic and onion salt, paprika, black pepper and a little chili powder.. fry them in about a 1/2 inch of hot oil to a nice golden brown (the liver cooks before the batter browns so don't worry about raw liver).
drain and cool.

my hair started turning white while i was still in high school....so by the time my last child was born i had pretty much moved past the salt and pepper stage to being blindingly white haired......
at a CA , i had to move out of the auditiorium with my fussing infant and a patrolling attendant remarked what a lovely grandchild.....
my remark, in the fatigue generated by the folderol of traveling over an hour with multiple kids and all the requisite gear to pull off a righteous assembly, was: i WISH this were a grandchild because that means her mother would have to nurse her......
he left me alone after that

thanks for the encouragement!
in the short time here i have felt an exponential increase in my confidence that my crisis of faith was more than a perceived lack of faith.... but rather an empowering realization that i have made a ghastly error in judgment and i can recover......and my kids are gonna be ok
thank you JWD......

The CO Wants Everyone In Hall To Get A Bible Study
by minimus inhe said, "enough with just offering the magazines.
you need to directly ask people for a bible study.
don't be like the man that stays engaged for years to a woman but never makes a commitment!

my old CO should talk to that CO and remind him that the borg lovingly provided us with the correction, thru the channel of revelation and the chain of command, that they are to be referred to as "bible STUDENTS, not studies"..... something about humanizing the concept..... perhaps a move away from an obsession with numbers?..... NAH!!!!!!

the occasion of her birthday,
which usually falls on the solstice( it was an AWESOME powerpoint)
the ancients used the trail
of the traveling sun to mark
the turn of the seasons
that made up the cycle of a year
this night is called the winter solstice by
the modern inhabitants of the northern hemisphere
sol sistere
sun to stand still
the hours of daylight are scant…
this year for winter solstice
we will have had 8 hours
and 18 minutes of light
nearly 2/3 of the day will
be spent in darkness...
the ancients saw the sun
moving further and further
away from their lives...
the anticipation of total abandonment
and certain death must have been
terrifying....
and yet.....
when it was the darkest
and despair literally loomed
on the benighted horizon....
hope in the return of the light
was rewarded with those first
enticing rays of a weak but unwavering
winter morning dawn....
and thus the cycle repeatsdarkness has no real reign…
only a brief and succinct moment
of apparent conquest....
and then hope is rewarded
when the light returns....
( the mushy, private stuff
has been edited out....
