turns out, he really doesn't seem to like anything spiritual.
he hasn't been to a meeting in weeks.
we went out with a bunch of jws the other night and at the end he told me he was pissed they brought spiritual things up.
steady as she goes, mate...

one aspect of the leaving jw process has long puzzled me why can a fading jw become mentally disinterested , miss loads of meetings , become irregular in the ministry , perhaps even become involved in minor worldly conduct without too much concern from relatives or the elders over a period of years , even decades.
yet as soon as they make it become known that they are not going to the meetings anymore, all hell breaks loose.
elders dust down their od books and come calling on shepherding visits , perhaps for the first time for many years.
i think purplesofa is on to the gist of it....
if you arent drinking the k00l-aid regularly
then the fog lifts, the fatigue lessens, clarity
of thought emerges and all of a sudden
you realize you have been marinating in
a doom's-day atmosphere, surrendering
your life to a cult!
they HATE when that happens!
i was "assigned" by the body of elders to talk to a pioneer/ministerial servant about his b o. he didn't have a car and so was always put in someone's car group.
everyone complained about having to take him.. when i talked to him about his stink, he got very very offended and copped an attitude.
i finally told him that unless he started bathing and washing his disgusting oily hair, he would be removed from his assignments.....what i never understood is how anybody could be told that they actually smelled and yet get pissed off with me!.

i don't go to the meetings anymore for i am fading, but a short while ago something happened in a meeting i'd never seen in my entire life as a jw.
the local needs discussed the fact that the local branch had bought a new kh for a whopping 1 million euros.
that's insane, but not the part that got me.
the KH i attended had the same routine
of asking, at a tues night special needs
talk, for the congro to pledge
a level of support to pave the parking lot....
after a distasteful row over the issue
including a separate "box" titled
DRIVEWAY FUND, placed next to
the worldwide fund contribution box
