on fb yesterday, an old friend of mine 'friended' me....and once again, i was hesitant to actually accept because i didn't know how she would feel about me being df'd.

but i accepted, and she sent me a msg.

well we ended up talking back and forth for awhile, and found out that she lives right around the corner from me!!!!!!!!!!

one of the things i really like about being out of the cult is that i no longer have to go to those long, boring district conventions.

instead, i can do other things with my new family (fiancee and soon to be step son).

we were out and about sunday, i had taken the day off from work, no point in bothering people with collections on a sunday and a holiday.. we had planned to go to a suburb of st. louis, mo (st. charles) and see some of the vendors on the riverfront in the afternoon and then wait for the fireworks in the evening .

i suspect my reaction would be
similar to yours: leave them to
it and be glad it is history for me

there is nothing to be said to
or done with a group of JWs
"high" on the emotional buzz
of a convention, so why try?

what would be the point of
any interaction one would

i understand that the number of people who join the wt is roughly equal to the number of people who leave.

there's a small difference, overall, but in some countries the number of those leaving might even be slightly above the number of those joining.

and this has been a problem for ever.. i would like some insight into the minds of those who stay in, not because of family reasons, not because of fear, old age, parental control, but because they really believe the scam.

i was reared as a catholic, in
an especially vibrant variation
as i grew up anglo in an area
that was predominately hispanic

i surely do not see the appeal
but if anyone else does, then
fair play to them.... the trappings
alone can bedazzle! why, i am betting
there are scapulars and holy cards and
rosaries, mantillas, first communion
dresses and suits, patron saint medals,
good friday rituals finding their way into
the psyche of many a displaced JW even
as we speak! what is not to love about
a gold chalice within a golden tabernacle...
if spectacle means anything, the RCC has
that market cornered

i am dodging pesky lutherans, myself...
i work in a social justice organization
with several and they think because
i am bereft of a faith group that i am
open to being wooed into another...

i am in the process of disabusing them
of such a notion, with abundant and
sincere graciousness regarding their
concern for what they deem a "lack"
in my life.... boy have they got THAT
one wrong!!!

Will the children & babies of Sodom be resurrected?

most of us know the 1/2 dozen or so flip flops the wts has had on whether or not the people of sodom would be resurrected.

currently, i believe the "newest light" is no, but has the wts said anything concerning a resurrection for their children & babies?

if the sodom children & babies receive no resurrection, that would seem a bit unfair when the wts is willing to claim resurrection for jw pedophile sodomizers.

Atm machines next to contribution boxes at 2010 DC

two friends came over and told me at the long beach convention they had atm machines distributed around the main lobby of the arena so the brothers could pull out cash and donate more freely.

anyone else hear of this at any other conventions of satan?.
