  Jehovah can change science...(when I asked my mom about 'Paradise')

  me and mom was having a conversation over breakfast a few weeks ago, and she brought up the circuit assembly that she just the brothers warned about apostates and going on 'questionable' internet sites.

  we started talking about heaven and 'the generation' change.

  i told her how could a paradise happen when science prove otherwise.

  I'm not sure how long I can stay married to the Witnesses

  i don't post often, but i lurk a lot.

  i have fonund the information to be helpful and encouraging.. however, i'm not sure how much longer i can take being married to the jw's.. i have a wonderful husband, but he believes everything this cult tells him.

  most recently he has decided that because the end is near we don't have to worry about our bills.

  married makes you equally responsible for debt accrued

  that loco mindset about "the end is all but here" has been
  going on for DECADES and it leaves a lot of financial ruin in
  its wake.... not sure if that is impetus for you to cut your
  losses and legally separate your finances from his, but
  it sure as heck is a starting point for consideration...

  were the WTS's enforcement of shunning to impact you
  directly as a participant should one of your cherished
  family or friends decide they wanted their choice to
  leave respected, not punished, where would you stand?

  do you think, were the WTS to remove that apotropaic
  anachronistic impediment to a dignified exit from the
  "religion" that there would be a mass exodus of the
  conscious class and the fence-sitters?

  Anybody into aromatherapy and smell good stuff?

  i always like my apartment smelling nice with a great fragrance and i like different ones throughout the year.

  however there are some smells i can't get enough of, like the smell of sandalwood.

  i just stocked up on some since the price is skyrocketing right now.

  i am actually within 2 courses of completing an
  AAS in CAM with an emphasis in aromatherapy...
  the therapeutic use of essential oils.... aka aromatology

  a caution i would offer is to be certain that you
  are using genuine plant products, essential oils,
  and not synthethetic, often petroleum based
  "fragrance oils" if you are utilizing them for
  therapeutic purposes...

  two i especially enjoy

  Jasmine (Jasminium grandiforium) is ECSTACY

  Melissa officinale is incredibly sedative

  Did your wardrobe of clothes change when you left the JW'S

  mine did and i have not put a suit on since escaping the cult.

  the mrs has given all but 1 away to the charity shops and i have loads more room in me wardrobe now.

  what items of clothing did you get rid of when you got out of the cult ?

  i got rid of all the "modest" dresses that were gods awful

  dress slacks and jackets for public appearances ...
  i participate on panels and give presentations for a civil
  rights advocacy group ... tasteful decolletage with
  bolder jewelry that i ever wore before

  i do have a few dresses and skirts, but have not had
  an occasion to wear them in a couple of years

  it will spike numbers for april, that is for sure....

  i know my aux moments were in apr, which
  happened to be the month the ice moved
  off the bay.... first decent weather since
  november so ANYTHING to get out of the
  house was welcome!

  i cannot see that there will be undue enthusiasm....
  the nominal JWs arent going to swallow the bait

  guess time will tell .... the kind you "turn in"

  JW's turned up to see if I celebrated xmas

  had a surprise visit from some jw relatives over xmas.

  they had never visited before, had never been invited, were travelling out of their way and despite having planned to "stop by" gave no advanced warning such as a phone call even a few minutes ahead of time to see if it was convenient.

  they stood at the door apologising for not phoning in advance but offered no reason other than that they'd decided not to call.. when invited in they had little to say (perhaps disappointed??).

  too funny! in a very tragic sort of way....
  imagine their thought processes that
  prompt them to act in such a manner!!

  i do have to say, if ever a JW questioned me
  about why i have lights decorating the outside
  of the house, i would have to say: it has nothing
  to do with xmas, as i despise that frenzy and furor
  artificially driven by commercialism .... just dont get
  me started on solstice.....
