i hope well.

this is a subject i've been wanting to approach for awhile as i've noticed on the board at times there have been wisecracks about janitors who were jehovah's witnesses .

now , hey, i'm real, have a good sense of humor, and can take a joke like anyone, be the brunt of a good joke, hell, i laugh at myself when i work alone at nights- just to keep entertained !

i agree, as amusing as it is to refer to the stepfords as window washers, there is a young-ish elder i know of that has a reasonably successful "window washing" business that has branched out to include replacing windows, applying a high tech sun filter film, awning installation ..... he also does snow removal...... in the summer time he has at least 3 crews working full time.( yep.... all dubs ) .. has at least 2 company trucks ..... raising 4 kids....so the dude is generating some serious cha-ching

How Do You Deal With Stress & Depression?

i know many people who are stressed and depressed.

they feel burnt out and anxious.

how have you dealt with such issues?

instead of Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitors, i have found 5-HTP ( 5- hydroxy tryptophan) a product extracted from the griffonia seed, and a precursor to serotonin (which has been found to be as effective in mild to moderate depression as SSRIs) has helped me get thru incredibly stressful events, incl the emergency detention required for my younger son after an attempted su!c!de and the r@pe of my then 16 YO daughter.....

i have been diagnosed with clinical depression and chronic PTSD ( as a child i was abducted and SA'd, as well as SA'd by my father and a cousin and had a physically/emotionally abusive alcoholic mother.... yeah, that could add up to traumatic).......i have never used pharmaceuticals for depression..... instead i have used 5-HTP and various essential oils for mood issues and tried to incorporate physical activity as well as using full spectrum lighting in several areas of the house where i spend any appreciable amount of time..... the pineal gland which synthesizes serotonin into melatonin requires full spectrum lighting

ohhhh, yeah.... and i just passed my 18th year of recovery from substance abuse..... only 2 more to go to have been sober as long as i was a wastedoid... w00t!

we have been using the neti pot for over 15 years... all my kids grew up using it..... the youngest has asthma and it was a godsend to help alleviate and/or prevent more serious allergy indused attacks.... just this winter the 16 YO had a ''snot nose" and he was rummaging around in the bathroom, hollering to me>>> MOM!! where is the neti pot?"

believe me, it doesnt have to be bourbon to send one into orbit..... once there was just a taaaaaaad too much salt in the water.... O M G!!! it was like having the sinus cavity sandblasted with acid!!! the tears and snot flowed for half a day!!!!! i strongly suggest that it is better to have a weaker saline concentration than one that is reminiscent of the ocean's salinity.... STRONGLY suggest!!!

i have gone thru phases with this.

i sometimes have forced jw's who shun me to speak, or be embarrassed if they don't.

then i let up on that as the hurting lessened over time.

even before we ever were involved in "the great dub debacle" my hub used to say " kill 'em with kindness... it'll make 'em crazy!" ( specifically about a nuisance neighbour)

depending on my mood, i will at the very least make a cursory greeting.... a "drive by tooting" if in the vehicle, or a quick "hey!! how are ya? nice to see you!" as i hurry by ( sad fact of the matter is i am forgetting names)... it comes down to who is playing whose game...... so i make 'em play mine..... by demonstrating that even tho i am "inactive", i am still caring, still ebullient and still busy.... just not on a hamster wheel in constant motion and getting nowhere

there are still a few i actually cared for and enjoy a social encounter with......

my bf and i have been together for about 2 years.

he has this ex gf from college who he stayed friends with.

i am not the jealous type so i never cared even though he had a problem with me being friendly with my exes.

wow, that has to be a jolt to your psyche to have such an unbalanced assault made to your relationship..... i hope you all are settling down after the fact

i have to tell you tho, as a parent of a child with a mental health diagnosis, that it sure smacks of borderline personality behaviour..... idealizing a relationship, especially an unattainable one with a high drama potential.....

absolutely refrain from engaging! once you cross any boundary of contact, all bets are off...... drama is the goal.....

i suspect this individual believes what she is thinking, but that is HER issue, and not yours...truly it is an unbelievably "brazen" intrusion into your lives....

hope it dies a speedy natural death

and petrified... i just recently became a pioneer and always had nagging questions in the back of my mind.

so, i decided that when i have get a study i would research all the questions as i go along so as to prove everything in the truth... i got 4 studies in about 2 months.

all was fine, until i reached i think chapter 6 in the bible teach book about the resurrection.

as others have suggested, definitely develop a strategy! take your time and be as cautious as a serpent ( matt 10:16 ) as you are well aware you have much at stake

find something else that teaches some of the correct main doctrines like Jehovah's name, etc...

maybe it would help both of you to understand that, generally, no "doctrines" are accepted as correct outside the confines of the body that adheres to them, so it isnt like there is a "correct" doctrine to find (Doctrine: That which is held to be true by any person, sect, or school; especially, in religion, a tenet, or body of tenets www.innvista.com/culture/religion/diction.htm)

yours will not be the first, or last, life and faith built upon ruins....
