if you get a chance, read the latest daniel publication (about 11 years old ...) on page 59-60. whats happening in the middle east and north africa is a fulfillment of that prophecy.. love,.

wow, a very vague (and thats being generous) reference in the daniel book means that whats going on in libya and egypt is a fullfilment?

how about this:

i was sitting in my garage, as i often do, to chill out and i actually ended up becoming angry.. so here i am, in my garage, kicking it on the stool for the drum set that is in there (i am a pianist/composer, not a drummer).

i start to think about all the crazy stuff that transpires on this planet.

we have all seen shows and heard stories or maybe even witnessed events that don't add up.

I am looking forward to you posting the math, I love this kind of stuff. If you did get K small 9 staight times in a row, on top of the ace of spades being on the board almost every time, that is some crazy stuff.

With that said, I personally cant comment on if that means God was involved. Thats between you and him , and its a personal matter for you.

But I do love marveling at odds.

I was delt pocket AA 3 straight hands once, that was pretty crazy, and I also one time was knocked out of a tournament by running quads. Getting busted on running quads may happen only a few times in your life.

I prefer live poker also, but dont get a chance to play much. I mostly play online.

Sab, first off, I too am a semi pro poker player, so good to see more of us out there. do you play online? im looking to get a pokerstars home game going. but that is a side point.

its hard to gauge how improbable your hands were, would you say it was more improbably than getting delt pocket aces 5 times in a row? or hitting back to back royals?

ok i was just blown away when i heard this today while driving, at first i thought it was the some old same old but then it went on and it seems like it is on a different level.. the subheading is "guard your heart by exercising self-control.

on page 27 par 17 it says "one way a person could wonder into the foolish course of the "young man in want of heart" is by aimlessly flipping though television channels or surfing the internet.

whether intentionally or not, he might chance upon sexually stimulating scenes.

My 12 year old sister was told her skirts were too short. She was friggin 12 years old. All I could think about was how sick a person had to be to be looking at a 12 year old. There was also a young child maybe about 11 who was absolutly roasted for wearing a dress with spegetti straps to a tea party. There are some sick, twisted perverts in the organization.

Convention invitation distribution campaign - Apr KM

had a quick look at the april km - they are having (yet) another invitation campaign to the convention.

slight twist though , in that any invitations not used are to be taken to the convention & used in informal witnessing.. traditional "convention reminders" insert - usual stuff about "jehovah arranging the program" , get early to the stadium , tip restaurant staff , don't make a scene at hotel reception desks if they have messed up your booking , no peeing in the hotel pool etc.

I was lucky for the majority of my JW life to have the convention about 20-30 minutes away. About a year before I left, my wife and I found it almost impossible to go for all 3 days of the convention as her health was not good, and my back would not allow me to sit all that time. So we would split up the days, which I came to found out later was frowned upon as it was not following theocratic direction. Anyway, as we were barely hanging on to go to the conventions, they announce that they are no longer having the convention at the usual place, and are having it in a place that is a TWO HOUR DRIVE EACH WAY. Not only that, they told us because our distance we should not stay at a hotel and commute, as others had an even longer commute so apparantly there werent alot of hotels in the area. I was stunned, and at the time we had an old car. So here we were faced with an additional 3 HOURS tacked on to each day of the convention, extra milage on an already old car, and if we were to disobey to spend around $200-$300 for a 3 night stay at a hotel room. I looked at my wife, and just said "Im not doing this". "I cant do this, this is simply impossible". And we never went to a convention again. I still believed everything, but just found this burden to be too much.

fading and need some support

first i am an ex pioneer of 2-3years ago and an ex elder of 9 months ago stepping down 12 months ago and stopped commenting for about 11 months.

prior to my enlightenment/awakening i was very active and an elder that spread the love to the congragation.. their has been very little shepparding by the elders witch im glad about, however 2 month goning on 3 i'v put 0 hours in service and reported 0. the memorial is comming up.

im expecting someone or sometwo to talk with me.

i can only tell you what i did, i stopped going and stopped turning in time, and have a zero contact policy. i will not answer the phone if they call or the door. after a while the calls and visits will stop. you do not owe these people anything and they have zero authority over you.

with that said, not everyone can do it like i did it and everyone has a different way that works for the, so good luck and i hope you figure out a good way that works for you.

i think that the watchtower is in trouble, thet are losing money, and have to sell properties, close brances, and cut back on publishing. they are also losing members and are getting much more heavy handed and demanding full obedience or else, which will cause them to lose more members. does that mean they are in their last days? last days as they are now yes, but not last days as a whole, imo. they will adjust and adapt and change to stay alive with fewer members. the only thing i could see ending them is changes in the tax code to make them pay taxes or if somehow they could be sued over the blood issue. with that said, i hope they crash and burn and that goes for all the cults or any group that violates huma rights.

Things I have heard about California JW's

after reading the two piece bikini discussion and the comment about calipornea, it reminded me of something i used to hear about the jw attitude in general there.

that it was extremely lax compared to mid west or other areas.. people were supposedly not df'd when they would most definitely been elsewhere, and more "worldy" type of dress and grooming were tolerated well.. is this correct at least in some areas?

if so, do you think it has to do with money, or the general culture there?.
