i dont have anything to add other than an observation. the original poster demonstrates the problem the watchtower has in 2010, when JW's come to the door spouting off their propaganda, a quick google search disproves their claims. that cant be good for the numbers. lol

Where do I start...
by KristiKay ini stumbeled across this site after doing some research about earthquakes and "end times".
i've had a jw comming to my home for quite a while just stopping by, and she finally convinced me to agree to a "bible study".
i was intoxicated at the time i agreed and i figured it would be better to have a set time for her visits rather then her just showing up at random times.

March kool-aid edition available ...
by wannabefree inmarch "study" edition is available for download at jw(dot)org.
first article "do not deceive yourselves with false reasonings" ... does a good job at blaming the individual witness for losing a sense of urgency ... surely the organization has no culpability for this.. the bible also warns about the danger of deceiving ourselves with false reasoning.'-jas.1:22..
a wrong view of the timing of the divine purpose could lead us to lose sightof the importance of our spiritual activities and become sidetracked with personal interests.. (zech.

that article about how great the organization is seems to be a new level of creature worship. even having a little boy dress up as Russel. its clear from reading that issue, there are alot of people doubting, and alot of people slowing down and putting making a living ahead of "theocrapic activities". also they are not doing family worship. in addition, it seems like the governing body are moving one step closer to exaulting themselves, that article referring to themselves as the "jeramiah class" seemed to be a new level of self promotion. the grip is tightning.

With the latest Australian Special Talk, we now have a complete picture of the Organizational Plan
by WingCommander inper this australian talk, found here: http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/beliefs/203281/1/latest-special-talk-in-australia id say we have now seen the future........ ah yes........the governing body is now starting to show their hand, to begin to show their future plans for this false-religion-cult of fear and oppression.
it has been said on here for the last few years now, that with the elimination/combination of the book study at the kingdom halls instead of at homes, the introduction of new rule books (keep yourself in god's love) and the new elder manual that a "tightening of the reigns" was beginning.
and so, just as the members of jwd and the internet have written, so it shall be done by the governing body overlords.

While I would be suprised if they started DF'ing peope who didnt go out in service, the one thing I will say is that while I did used to hear about "your not a JW if you dont go out in service" stuff when I was a JW, it was usually done by fellow strict witnesses. This is the first I have heard it from a talk from a heavy at bethel, so it will be in print soon. I could be wrong, im sure blondie with her research skills could probably produce a "if you are not going door to door you are not a JW" quote. but i dont remember that being said officially. so i think WC has a point, and it will be interseting to see what happens. glad im not a JW anymore. even if I was, I would have still left over this bullshit that they are doing. crzy

where are these atheists "forbidding" things? only people i see trying to fobid things are religious fundementalists with things like gay rights. i hope atheists dont go the fundementalist rout and start trying to make everyone do what they believe like the xians.

I have been in 3 congregations, and the first one I was in, was like botz described. They did not DF people unless it was last resort, even going as far as begging a young boy not to DA himself.
However the other 2 congs I have been in DF'd people like a bodily function, some for even refusing to meet with elders for a sheparding call.
So its really dependant on the local elders.

What VM44 calls a pattern, to me looks like more and more holes busting through a dam. i just hope the dam breaks and crashes down on the watchtower society. in the information age its hard to cover up lie after lie after lie after lie after lie after lie.

KS Blood-Handout s-55-e (PDF)!!!
by yknot inwe interrupt your forum posting for this 'just in' item...... it appears an elder has not locked his doctor's bag and a member of the conscious class has brazeningly swiped & scanned a copy of the s-55e.
(((thank you anonymous cc jw!.
for the purpose of our bethel audience i want to assure you no actual elder was willingly involved in the obtaining of this scan.. link: http://www.sendspace.com/file/mnf7a0.

I think this shows that the chance of any type of reform, any time soon is nil. they are getting worse, not better.

Letter from elders
by Cynisister inthe local elders have been trying to visit me (my hubby still attends meetings and he has told them i don't wish to speak with them), they left a copy of a watchtower (on helping inactive ones to return) in my door when i was not at thome, and this last sunday asked my husband if it's ok to write me a letter saying this is what they have to do.
they can't freely stop by as we have large dogs that would keep them out.. does anyone know if this is going to result in my being df'd??
i don't want that to happen yet as my husband's parents who are quite elderly, would be devastated.

Im going to have to disagree with the posters who are saying "Just saying you do not wish to speak to the elders is not a grounds for being DF'd."
I know of a person who was DF'd because he told elders who came to his house he didnt want to speak with them. Now, of course, this could have been a local thing, so the posters could be right, but I think we all know, the elders can do what they want.
Also, there has been rumors that inactive ones who refuse to meet with the elders for sheparding are considered as "disassociating themselves".
While this is still at rumor status, the elders in my area have at least done this once, so I have a hard time thinking they acted on their own. But it is of course possible.
So my point is, if you dont want to get DF'd, basicly do what leaving WT said. Say you have personal problems or better yet femal emotional problems, that will sending them running.
We are seeing a tightning of the grip from the governing body, they are phasing out the "family buisness" part of being DF"d and becoming more like Scientology, so it would not suprise me if they get rid of inactive ones who refuse to meet with the elders for sheparding.
