(romans 13:1-7; titus 3:1) jehovah did not originateman's governmental authorities, but they exist by his permission.
I suggest all of you read 1Cor 13:1-7 to prove the authority given to governments by God.
But that does NOT in anyway include Satan's government which is right around the corner. We cannot trust anyone, those among us who live through the Great Tribulation, and were not Raptured.

This shunning thing is so sad and hurtful, God did command us to put people out of the church that flagrantly break God's commandments, but He also told us to LOVE that person and keep your heart open for him should he wish to return.
did you ever read in the scriptures where christ told his followers to meet at a certain time to go and witness?.
did you ever hear christ tell his followers to count there time?.
better yet did christ ever have regular meetings to attend?.

all mankind stands condemned before god, and yet some are more reprehensible than others are.
as an example, christ called the original christian apostate, judas, the son of destruction.
so too, and not surprisingly, the activities of modern day apostates are said to awaken the judgment from of old, so that "the destruction of them is not slumbering.
The bible does teach that all who reject Jesus as Lord and God will perish for their rejectoin of him, and they shall all burn forever in the lake of fire. It is not heresy or apostasy to belive such it is the truth.
Think first of the parable of Lazarus and the rich man. And there are other proofs, which I shall post another time.

There is nothing wrong with praying to Jesus. Remember that St. Stephen addressed his prayer to JESUS when He was being stoned.
Remember, that Jesus IS GOD, and God is the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

Do not fear, blessed one.
It is NOT a sin to vote, or to salute the flag, or whatever. God, through Paul actually commands us to be obedient to government authorities; they do not merely exist by God's permission, they were placed there by God to help keep watch over his flock.

in the times of the old testament the prophets foretold of the coming of a saviour,a son of god, a king of kings.
the pharisees, being imperfect men, interpreted these prophecies to mean that a literal king would be coming to nation of israel.
I warn you all, NOT to believe stories that Jesus has already returned. Jesus has not come back yet.
Some seem to believe in an invisible presence, come in 1918, or 1975, or whatever; but that ignores two important facts in the bible.
For one, NO ONE is supposed to know the exact times and dates as set by the Father Acts 1:7.
And when Jesus comes back, ALL EYES SHALL SEE. No invisible presence; He will be VERY visible. And H will reign forever, not just for a day. Matt. 24:30 (just to name one example out of many)
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, AND THEY SHALL SEE THE SON OF MAN COMING IN THE CLOUDS OF HEAVEN WITH POWER AND GREAT GLORY (my emphasis).
There are other proofs too that show Jesus will be VERY visible when He comes back.
Do not let yourselves be deceived by false teachings.

WHO is a true Witness?
One who believes that Jesus is Lord, and God, come in the flesh for sinful men, and does his/her best to teach the truth to others as the Holy ghost allows.
If you are a beleiver, then you also would have the same love and compassion for your family, friends, and YES, the nonbelievers, too, even if they reject the word.
Jesus told us to judge NO ONE even those who do not believe, but to love all people.
You said the bible knows nothing of solitary religion. I disagree with that, for Jesus wants us to have a personal deep intimate relationship with God WITHOUT man's institutions standing in the way.
Tehre is something for going to church and worshipping together with others, if you can find a good spirit filled church. But such things are not necessary.
You can also find yourself trapped by man's false teachings, churches and cults who do not know their bible from the NATIONAL ENQUIRER, and Jesus wants us to get away form that, to have a relationship without being bound by the chains of Satan's lies.

i am not practicing at the moment!.
it's been over 15 years, that i don't attend the kingdom hall.. i have been married with a man that is a practicing seventh day adventist, and as everyone knows the conflicts in our beliefs are tremendous.. i don't agree with his beliefs and visa versa!.

Might I in all humility remind you that Jesus came down to FULFILL the Law, NOT destroy it. Matt. 5:17-18
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law until all be fulfilled.
What Jesus's sacrifice accomplished was to bring us out from under the protection of the Law, so that we are saved rthrough grace.
But when you live a godly life you have the laws written on your heart and consciences, and Paul commented baout the Gentiles WHO DO NOT HAVE THE LAW, and yet live by the Law.
the wt claims that each "day" in genesis (chap.1) is really 7000 yrs.
can anyone provide an explaination of this belief?
please list references from wt literature or scripture that backs up this idea.. personally, i can find nothing; which is interesting since so much jw doctrine and teaching hinges on this number "7000".. thinker
